Greetings, gang.

Two words for the weather today - hot and hotter. 94 today and 95 tomorrow with high humidity.

All tasks completed in a timely fashion yesterday - walk, bike ride, and laundry. Due to the forecast I'll be heading out the door shortly to get the walk and bike ride accomplished early.

All stay safe.

Tom
82 and sunny.  Humid.  Church on TV this AM.  Water as no rain for over a week.

Jim C., glad you are back .  Prayers.

Prayers for Gulf Coast.

Enjoy your week ahead.  Hope all are safe and well.
Hello Blue
Sun and 70's today.
My wife is still in the hospital, a 1 hour surgery turned into 31/2.
She is ok but they won't let her out till they are satisfied her bowel is working. The doctor say's everything looks good.
The kids and the church have been feeding me well. I had to freeze some of it. Too much actually

Greetings, gang.

A lot of hot air in a hurry. That's the weather description fir today. 94 with 30+ mph winds. The overnight low here was 75.

3 mile walk and 13 mile bike ride were the activities for yesterday. When i got home from the bike ride I turned on the a/c. Furnace blower started up just fine but nothing happened at the outside unit. Last time this happened I called a repairman. When he arrived I flipped the switch and everything worked. So this time I waited 15 minutes and tried it again. Everything worked as advertised and I was cool and comfy.

This morning I'll be going for a walk soon but the bike ride will not occur. Just too hot and windy. About 10 I'll head for the gym to swim. Other indoor activities may occur around here as the day progresses.

Continuing prayers for Mrs SJ and Jim as they recover.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, nice day yesterday, it never got too hot. We hit the shooting area around 7 and there were people set up there already. We were able to get to a spot where we've shot before and away from other shooters, but as the morning went on, more and more folks showed up. Normally the shooting areas are spaced a decent way apart and are defined, but as we left we noticed one group and decided to set up between two others. Way too close for us, fortunately we were heading home by then. One reason why we don't like to shoot on weekends... Tried to find a place to eat on the way back. Our favorite truck stop restaurant was still closed, another one down the freeway didn't have a full restaurant, Denny's and the Cracker Barrel had waiting lists with a 30 minute wait, as did several others that we stopped by. If we saw people hanging around the front door, we just drove on. Finally had to give up and just grab something at home. Sunday breakfast out is a tradition in some families, but with a limit of 50% of capacity, many restaurants have to leave folks waiting in line.

My friend went to Cabela's to look and possibly buy a gun, sorry, by appointment only and we're full for the day. I heard the same story from others when they went to different gun stores.

I think our 8PM curfew is up today, saw all the freeway signs alerting everyone of the curfew. I'm hoping that doesn't mean that you can't be on the freeway past 8. Many restaurants are shutting down early to give folks a chance to get home in time. This has to be one of the craziest times of all. I still remember the blackouts and air raid drills back in WWII times, but this goes way beyond that with the pandemic lockdown and the curfew because of the protests and looting riots, and now hurricanes and tornadoes make it well beyond strange.

Prayers for those in need....
Morning.  90 and mostly sunny. [weather station in sun now]  Wifey watered the beds we didn't water yesterday.  Goofing off this AM.  Not much on agenda.  Raleigh curfew removed today.  We'll see.

Prayers for Granny Pat.

Have a good one.
Good morning folks

It is 70. Going up to 78. Really nice out.

Took the wife to a local nursery/grocery yesterday. She picked up several plants. Going to head out and plant them shortly. After that I am not sure what is planned afterwards. Perhaps I will get some modeling done.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Tompm, I just got summoned to take #Wifey to State Farmers' Market in Raleigh.  Pretense, get fresh tomatoes. Icon_rolleyes   Then come back by Home Goods and she will go in.   Icon_rolleyes
hi all . heading to Tucson today have an early appointment with VA  tomorrow  morning , too early to drive up tomorrow do we are getting a  room  tonight . might as well stop at the hobby shop at the ace hardware .
Seems MTH [Mike's Train House] is shutting down for good.  I call it Mike's Trash House.  Lionel and Atlas are it.
Good morning everyone, heard the TV weather lady use the term, "cold front moving in".... Yeah, we will still be in the low 90's for another day, our average is just over 100, but a "cold front" should send me to cranking up the furnace again. Don't know for sure how cold it was since we didn't go out all day yesterday. No "stay at home" orders, just that we didn't have anyplace that we needed to go right then. Still see the TV people working from home, that has to be the ultimate in social distancing. No more curfew here, let's hope that is a good sign. We have an anniversary this week and I'd like to take my wife out, but I have no intentions of standing in line waiting to get into a restaurant.

Prayers for all those here that are in need. Everyone have a great day.
Greetings, gang.

It's a cloudy 71 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. The high for today will be a rainy 77 as the remnants of Cristobal move through.

Went for a 3 mile walk yesterday morning. By the time I got home I was soaked in sweat. Decided that was enough exercise for the day. Today my only plans are for a bike ride soon and then a nice walk in the rain later. Other activities will consist of mainly sitting on the porch and waiting for items to arrive that I have ordered on line.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Hot and humid today.  Off to Fred's to help him with a project.

Enjoy the day.
Hello Blue
Sun and 90 today, some storms expected later.
Brought my wife home from the hospital yesterday, she seemed to have a decent night at home. Was happy to get a shower this morning, back to the water. She is now sleeping on the couch.
Big 3 rail news is Mike from MTH is retiring, selling off or closing MTH.
S.J.
Good afternoon folks

It's 81 heading up to 87 with the humidity rising.

Planted the plants my wife bought and cleaned the fish pond filter.

Went to replace the plastic wheels with metal wheels and two of the trucks broke. These were metal with springs. I thought they just came apart. Upon closer inspection I saw the metal had either cracked or broke. I stole trucks from an undefeated Atheran kit. While replacing the couplers with Kadees I discovered the coupler pockets were brittle and pieces fell off. I will repair or replace them. On the other car I replaced the wheels and couplers with no issues. Then I discovered one of the stirrups is missing. At this point I am just going to go with it. These cars were from an estate sale on Ebay. I have no idea where they were stored but it wasn't a good place. I also had an express reefer from the same lot and had a plastic truck snap in half. I can't complain too much since I got 8 cars for under $30.

Not sure what is planned for today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
