Good morning folks

It is 88 going to 90.

I weathered four reefers and almost finished another three. I sprayed four more cars to prep them for weathering.

I hope to continue weathering the various cars. I still have two Accurail wood reefers and two Branchline reefers. Once they are done all the reefers I have will be on the layout.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Good morning folks, whoopee, we've gone from an "excessive heat warning" to an, "excessive heat watch", either we're due for a cold snap or the weather-watchers are delusional. Why?, well there's still a few 115's in their forecasts and lots of 110+, one says there's a 25% chance of rain tomorrow, all the rest say, "baloney" Icon_e_surprised

Got the tree that the HOA was concerned about in front cut down, it was starting to have leaves again, then nothing. I hope the HOA doesn't notice and make me put in another tree. If the CC&R's say that every house should have a tree between the sidewalk and the street, then how come I see so many on our block that don't have trees there? There's a ad, I think for insurance, on TV where the HOA lady cuts down hanging plants, "violation, violation, violation", the saws their mailbox post down, "two inches too high, violation". Yeah, that's what it's like living in an HOA community. And we pay them a monthly fee just to aggravate us. Waiting
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 53 this morning. Supposed to be sunny and 83 later today. Had a thunderstorm roll through yesterday morning with winds at about 50 mph and a quarter inch of rain. Varying chances (20-60%) for rain through the rest of the week.

I did get stocked up on meat yesterday. Got about 15 meals for $50 bucks. Not much else accomplished yesterday and today looks to be about the same.

All stay safe.

Tom
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 66 headed for partly cloudy and 87 with a 30% chance of rain.

Yesterday I cleaned up the leaves and branches blown down by Monday's storm and got them hauled away. Also got the yard mowed and went for a bike ride. My shoulder is complaining about the work I did yesterday so I'll be taking it easy today.

Gas price is down even more since I filled the tank last week - $1.84.9 compared to $2.04.9 previously.

All stay safe.

Tom
Worked for the County yesterday all day.  Hot and humid with big chance of showers.  Probably mow again since lots of showers coming next few days.

Gas prices dropped greatly except in Rolesville.  35 cents per gallon higher.  Why would anyone buy their gas?  Some still at the pumps.  3 miles away. cheaper gas.

Have a good one.
Hello Blue
High of 88 today. Sunset is before 9pm now. So sad as I enjoy summer so much.
Grocery shopping yesterday at a local chain. Got everything but ice cream I guess its the new TP caper.
Lowest gas price I saw was $2.09.

Good morning all, I looked at Gas Buddy a few days ago and to my surprise, Costco isn't open yet but their gas station is. Went there yesterday, a few others are aware but no lines. Gas @ $1.99 $1.87 today) compared to $2.39 at most independents. Still @ $2.59 at a Chevron station near our house. Like Frank, I have no idea why anyone would buy gas there.

Temps still boiling hot, no rain in sight to cool things down. Got an assessment from the electric company saying that I've used 11% more power this year than last. I wonder why..... And they've still put in for another price gouge, some $11,000,000 increase while I was given but a $12 net increase in SSI this year.

Not much more going on here that I want to talk about right now, so have a great day and be careful out there.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy, very muggy and 73 at the moment. The high for today is supposed to be in the mid 80s. Very typical weather for this time of year.

Very quiet day yesterday. I did get my new furry creature chasers yesterday. I was cutting up some pipe to install them when my (25+ year old) saw died. Quick trip to Menards cured that problem. I mount them on pipe as the plastic poles that come with them are not very sturdy. Otherwise nothing else accomplished yesterday and today looks to be more of the same. Shoulder kept waking me up last night so a nap may be in my plans for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, not much to talk about, doing, "shelter in place", more so because of the heat than the virus. Could get up to 116 today and tomorrow. We are well past the record for the number of days 110 or higher, I think I also have a record electric bill as well. Icon_cry Has the carpets and tile cleaned yesterday, now I'm fighting flies because they had to leave the front door open for a few hours to get their hoses in. Even the flies know enough to get out of the heat..... Icon_rolleyes
Morning.  Partly cloudy and super humid.  Chance of thunder storms late today.  More rain next three days.  When it rains it pours.

Not much on agenda today.

Bucks in the field at farms.  Sent by my farmer.  Says there all the time.

Have a good one.
News flash:

Just found out today is National Left-handers Day. Time for all of us lefties to celebrate!

Hello Blue
Sun and 88 today
We stay at home except for shopping and gathering(s) with the kids.
No train news at all.

Good afternoon folks

It is 79 now going to 81. We have 80% chance of thunderstorms today. We had a stormy afternoon yesterday with some intense lightening. There were a few booms that shook the house.

I continued weathering reefers and a coupler of boxcars. I also took down some more of the hill and cut out the farm scene.I need to figure out a way to lift it out of place. I am in the process of putting together an order for some track.

We have to run out to the pharmacy to grab a few things.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Good evening Blue.
I haven't been very active here except my daily picture.  I was mowing my grass with my new Troybilt Wednesday and was over half done when I had to take a break. When I went back to finish I found the mower to be locked up. I took it to the shop today and now I will find out if the warranty is any good. It has about 10 hours on it.  I bought this the end of May, and it is a replacement mower for the first one that vibrated so bad I returned it . Not to mention the battery going bad on this one 3 weeks ago.

I went to the chiropractor and had a major tune up, It really felt good to get the kinks straightened out.  It also helps with my edema.

I even made an appointment to see a new PCP for Monday, my old office has been bought by a big outfit that I don't care to use. Thse doctors work out of my preferred hospital too so that is a plus.

The garden is so poor you couldn't raise hell with a fifth of whiskey and that is a shame because the local farmers thing their tomatoes are worth 3.95 a pound. I will buy more kaydee couples before I pay that price.
Weather here has been hot and dry. I'm hoping I can get out and do some train watching soon. I'm missing my train watching buddy from north of the border and I hope they can open them soon.

Every one stay cool, Snowbird season for EZDays is coming soon  Icon_e_biggrin
Charlie
Good morning everyone, is it really Friday again????? whoa, slow down there time.... You're right Charlie, at this rate, it'll be October in a few days and they'll start swarming in with their 40' motor homes, pulling a Jeep and blocking the fast lane of traffic. Glad I don't live around where Jim Currie lives, maybe 100,000 RV parks around there just waiting for the snowbirds to flock. If I were them, I'd be checking the weather here first, the way things are going right now, it still might be well over 100 in October. Eek

Looks like I have my layout wiring done, tweaking a few things before I put the lid down and start working topside again.

Y'all stay safe and have a great weekend.
