Sun and 88 today. No recent rain.
Yesterday was blood draw day.
This morning was footsie doctor day.
I'm exhausted...lol

Good afternoon folks

It is a muggy 84 going to 89. They are calling for storms his evening so I will make sure the furniture is covered.

Worked on weathering and I built a couple of Jersey Central Accurail wood reefers. I will renumber one of them. I like that Accurail makes the renumbering decals for there stuff.

I have to run the son to the doctors this afternoon. It is time for his annual well visit.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Good morning all, another hot one in store, could get to 112 today, so we add another day to the record of 110 or greater that we broke a few weeks ago. There's hope though, the guessers stirred their cauldron added Eye of Newt and a sprinkle of bat dust to forecast rain and lower temps starting tomorrow though the end of next week. Since each one has different numbers, I can only guess that they put too much Newt in the mix again causing drastic results. Stooges8uq

Actually got a few things done on my layout yesterday, working on adding a girder bridge and underpass. I have an idea how it's going to look, I just hope I come close.
Greetings, gang.

72 and smokier than yesterday. High for today is supposed to be in the mid 90s again.

Just got back from a 45 minute walk. Wanted to get it done before it got too hot out. Next up is breakfast and then a bike ride. Later on I need to dig a tree out of the neighbor's yard. It's right in the fence line and we want it out before it damages the fence. He tried to mow if off with a riding mower yesterday but couldn't get close enough to the fence. This afternoon will find me indoors!

Yesterday I went to Walmart and the grocery store as planned but just as I finished putting the groceries away the phone rang. My daughter and I talked for an hour and a half. By the time she ran out of words it was too hot to ride or walk. In the afternoon I spent some time in the train room and fixed a problem with one of the engines so not a totally wasted day.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good afternoon folks

It is 80 heading to 83.

I did some weeding in the front garden. I also did some maintenance on the hot tub.

My cell phone died last night. It won't power up or take a charge. I spent over 2 hours on the landline with the cell phone carrier and the insurance company. First guy with the carrier incorrectly sent me to the insurance. He said my phone was out of warranty because it was older than a year. The person at the insurance was an idiot and set up a claim for physical damage and got my email wrong. When I tried to explain to her mistake she transferred me to the wrong place. I had to call the insurance back and I got someone who knew what she was doing. She canceled the claim and discovered since the problem was a mechanical problem the carrier should handle it. She transferred me back to the carrier. Again I got someone who worked with me. She said the phone had an extended warranty because I have the insurance. She wasn't authorized to do a warranty claim herself. She worked with her supervisor and got the claim approved and a new phone will be sent to the store near me today or tomorrow. Since it is mechanical the deductible is $5. If it was physical damage it would have been $99.

Needless to say no modeling last night. Hoping to get some in today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Good morning everyone, one more day of "excessive heat warning" then we head down to a bone-chilling 98-100 over the weekend. I'll be glad when the cold water out of the faucet starts to be colder than the hot water again. I don't know where our water storage tank is, there's usually one for each neighborhood pumping out ground water, but it has to be close enough so that the water doesn't cool down on the way to the user.

My prayers go out to all those folks hit by Hurricane Laura, and to all those innocent victims of those pre-planned riots that continue for days on end and start for the smallest of reasons. Just an excuse to pillage and plunder.
Hello Blue
Sun and 91 today. It's very humid with a breeze that doesn't help cool.
I polished the rails last night all was working well.
S.J.
Finished Human Services Board computer meeting.  Now to get going.  Dr's appointment this afternoon.

Prayers for those in the path of the hurricane.  Been there and done that.  Not fun.
Good morning folks

It is 86 going to 92.

I spent sometime doing inventory of the my trains last night. I am trying to figure out exactly what I have.

I plan on doing some weathering today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain later. High for today in the upper 80s. After to cold front moves through later today temps will go back to more normal for this time of year - 80s/50s.

Bike ride but no walk yesterday. Otherwise nothing accomplished. Last night I watched the movie "Definitely Maybe." Very cute. Not much on the agenda for today. Out for a bike ride soon. Maybe a walk after (or during if it's not too nasty) the rain.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, Friday already and we're days away from September. Won't be long before we see Santa with his kettle and ringing his bell outside of Walmart. Assuming, of course, that he's allowed to do that this year. I wonder about those "Black Friday" crowds, are they going to allow that this year? That is, if there's anything left after all these "protesters" finish their shopping.

I mentioned yesterday how hot the cold water is, so I checked it yesterday, I measured 106 right out of the faucet. Eek I should be able to turn off the hot water heater for a while.

Oh yeah, our virus counts are down now to the point that bars and gyms are going to reopen, with lots of restrictions, of course. Been watching new episodes of "Restaurant Impossible", where he has solutions to the restrictions put on restaurant occupancy.

Have a great and safe weekend...

Good point Jim, I should have turned it off in the beginning of the summer, I've had a real time with trying to get the shower water temp down to the point where it's not too hot. Definitely will drain it if I do shut it off. Next thing is to insulate the garage, it's even too hot out there to do that so I'll wait until things cool down. We've had some hot summers here, but this really tops them all, so far we've had 43 day where it was 110 or higher.
Good afternoon folks

It is 84 going to 87. They just put us under a serve thunderstorm watch. Bunch of storms crossing the Susquehanna heading our way. The edge is nearly in Lancaster. So should be here in an hour or two. Good thing I just finished cleaning the pond filter.

I worked on building some more express reefers. They are an old Bev-Bel/MDC/Roundhouse set of PRR wood express reefers. There are eight in the set. I have five and have my eye on the last three on Ebay. I want to finish building the reefers I have and continue weathering the others I started. Also want to continue inventorying the trains.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Tired.  Home from delivering produce boxes.  Then ran and got matching new tire for front of truck.  Put one of the used tires on spare rim as had 97 Unibounce [Uniroyal] still on it [never been on ground].  When we removed it from rim, big dry rot lines around sidewall and tread.  Ready to roll.

Thought this was last Friday to be delivering produce boxes.  Extended two more weeks [notified late today].  Think partly because new "hub delivery" places not ready and also, one hub is to do door to door for my locations.  A staff member forgot to tell them to follow me today.  I have to "train" them.  Getting tired of most of Fridays being work.

Now R & R.
