Good morning folks

It is 57 and chilly but no rain. High is supposed to be 66 with a chance of rain.

Electrician just left. He was scheduled for yesterday but didn’t come due to the rain. Came today and replaced the GFI’s. Found out the old ones were not outdoor units and that is why they stopped functioning. Also, the one in the front was a 15 amp outlet on a 20 amp line. Everything is working now except for the fishpond filter. I think the old GFI may have damaged it and now I will have to replace the pump.

Weekend and yesterday were nuts. Had to do a lot of unplanned running around. I only got one boxcar weathered over the weekend, but I did run some trains. I weathered three boxcars yesterday.

More boxcars to weather this evening if all goes according to plan.

Has anyone heard from Don? He has not been here for a couple of days.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Hello Blue
Sun and low 60s today.
We dropped the Escape off at the dealers for an oil change. Did some errands with the other car By then the Escape was done so I picked it up and brought it home. No train news. My wife had one of the grandsons bring all the Christmas decorations down, now she is going through them. Will keep some but give away or take to the curb all the rest.

Good afternoon.
I have heard from Don and his wife has taken a turn for the worse. He saw my post the other day and replied through email.
I just received this and I will pass it along. He needs our prayers.

she is still hanging in there, but they don't give her much more time. I saw her again yesterday and she is totally unresponsive. You can share this on Big Blue if you wish, I just don't feel up to posting right now.

Don
Prayers for Mrs. Day, Don, and their family.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy, windy and 55 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. High for today is supposed to hit the mid 70s. Winds predicted to be above 35 mph today. May be the last time I see that until spring. Temperatures drop tomorrow to the low 50s for the foreseeable future (aka the extended forecast).

Got rid of the yard waste, got the car washed, and went to Walmart. No Corona (not the virus) in stock so I just left again. Nothing I desperately needed. Herded another batch of leaves to the driveway and mulched them into submission. Generate two big green lawn bags of leaves to be hauled away tomorrow.

After lunch I went for a walk. As I got to the town square some guy in probably his mid30s to early 40s started chatting with me and asked if he could walk with me. I said "Sure, if you pick up the pace!" As we walked around the square he kept trying to get my name. I wasn't sure if he was just friendly, was trying to get another customer (he said he was a financial planner), or what. 5 minutes with him was enough. Fortunately we got around the square in that time and I took off in another direction.

Not much planned for today. Probably a walk later but no bike ride (see above about wind speed).

All stay safe.

Tom
Mira [cat who was sick] got her rabbis booster and is fine now. Wiley [Yorkie] got his annual.

Tom, prayers for Granddaughter.

Now waiting on hold for DMV. Can't get property tax right and about tired. If they screw it up this time, calling Gov's office. These folks are unbelievable. Don't pay them enough to get good workers.

Got funeral for Mayor who was in office before me. She had been in such bad mental shape for years. Didn't know day from night for years. She is better off. A grave side memorial service.

Then help County Commissioner lady deliver campaign bags to doors.

Later.
Thank you all for your concerns and prayers. My wife passed early this morning. I'm OK, taking it better that I did seeing her laying in bed and not responding to anything or anyone. They did allow me and my family to visit her these past few days, no Covid19 gear and I could stay as long as I wanted to.

Don't know what else to say, but as Charlie pointed out, this is why I've not been posting, and I may not for a while, I'm sure you all understand.
Oh Don, my deepest sympathies. What a sad day for you and your family. I don’t really know what to say, I’m just speaking straight from my heart. We send our love, support and strength to you all as you and your loved ones navigate what is before you. Our prayers are with you.
Jack
Don - so sorry for your loss.

Greetings, gang.

Not much to say after Don's post.

Tom
Oh my, Don so sorry for your loss. There are so many it just doesn't seem fair.
Hello Blue
Gloomy with 55/55 for the day, Yep that's our hi & low. Not raining but misty.
No special news here, I had a long phone chat with a club member last night we had a lot of things to discuss.
S.J.
Don, I can not express my feelings any better than Jack. My heart goes out to you and Packy and the rest of your family. We will be here when you are ready.
Don - Deeply sorry for your loss.

Good morning folks

It is 60, going up to 73.

Been crazy the last couple of days. I have had to run my son out to the Courthouse the past few days. As part of his job he is working voter education. Basically he is standing outside the Government Center at a table answering questions, directing people to where the voter center and dropbox is. He has been very busy these days. There is a constant flow of people voting. I was one of them and dropped my ballot off on Tuesday.

Wife and I went and got our haircuts last night. It was just us and the stylist in the salon. The bushy and wild beard I had at the chat the other night is gone.

I have not gotten any modeling done in several days. There just have not been enough time. We will see what happens today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Don, so sorry.  You know she is better off now.  You struggled with this for years.  God bless you.

Slept till 8:15. BoJ's biscuit [Wifey picked up before she went to work].

On the phone with Edgecombe Planning Director. She is really nice. Got a physical address for the farm [that part where camper is since there are two farms]. Now DMV and tax folks will not be going crazy. Speaking of farms, farmer called, soon, all wheat and soybeans [wheat during winter and early spring, soybeans summer and fall]. 2022, sweet potatoes. 2023, peanuts. 2024, tobacco. Gets rotation right. No cotton this time around.

Wash under carriage of pickup to get mud off. Then take to get serviced. Don't like to take it there with it coated with mud [spun mud while driving one field Monday]. Then guy doesn't have to have dirt falling all the time.

Run patch through barrels of rifles to deer hunt with this season. Spray hunting clothes.

Squirrels quit raiding bird feeder. "Cutting" green hulled pecans like crazy. If I could shoot in town, a pile of dead squirrels. They ignore you when they are "cutting" pecans. Like craziness.

Enjoy your day.
Greetings, gang.

Clear and 33 outside my window this morning. The high for today is supposed to be about 57 with some breezes up to about 30 mph.

Yesterday was fairly routine. Walmart and the yard waste disposal site in the morning. In the afternoon I got an appointment set up for next Monday with a massage theraisit. Hopefully she can fix my shoulder. Got an e-mail from social security last night. The increase for next year will be 1.3%. That means I can upgrade to medium fries from McDonalds. This morning I'll head to the gym for a while. After lunch I'll get the storm windows cleaned and installed on the front porch.

All stay safe.

Tom
Rainy good morning.  Suppose to stop around noon.  Headed east around noon after haircut.  Spend the night as gun season starts tomorrow.

Have a good one.
Hello Blue
Sun and 50s today. At wake up it was 34.
I have been getting my haircut at home. My wife has done a good job and I'm more than happy with her cuts.
We still only go out when necessary.
