Thinking of all my American friends on this important day

[attachment=35075]
Cold 36 degrees and sunny. Off to werk. Enjoy your day.
Greetings, gang.

Thank you, Ed!

Sunny and warm are the weather words for today. 73 with winds at 10 -15 mph with gusts to 25.

Started to assemble the first of the toyboxes yesterday. I essentially just cut out 4 pieces if wood and used some clamps to hold them together. Gonna be cool when I get them all done. My hope is to get all three assembled and stained outdoors this week while the weather is nice. I can do the craft paint stencils indoors. The weather is nice enough that I'll just walk to the polling place. It's only 8 blocks and a beautiful fall day to be outside.

All stay safe - and vote if you haven't already.

Tom
Good morning.
We just got back from voting. At 930 we got in line and it was a half hour wait.  Not that there were that many people, but more than I have ever seen. Things were just moving slow.

It's a shame that some cities are preparing for riots.. This is not supposed to happen here, and until we show zero tolerance for it it will continue.  It isn't about politics, there are right ways to do things but looting and riots are not the way.

It is a nice day here, but still too wet to finish mowing. We have several more days to dry up so by Friday maybe I can finish that chore and put the mower away and get the snow blower out.

I wish we would wait untill 2024 to start the 2024 campaign but it will probably start tomorrow.  Icon_cool

Cheers
Charlie
Good afternoon folks

It is 53 currently heading up to 54. It was 38 at 5 o’clock this morning when my son headed out to work.

We are on pins and needles and hoping there are no issues today or later tonight. My son works for one of the campaigns. He will be coordinating volunteers that will be stationed at various polling places. Unfortunately, several of his co-workers have been threatened with violence over the last few days. I am having trouble believing that such things are happening.

The wife and I and the kids have all voted by mail. We took our completed ballots and dropped them off in the drop box at the County Board of Elections. From what I am hearing from friends, lines are long but moving. When the polls first opened it was taking one to two hours. Now it is down to about 20 minutes depending on the location.

We are beginning to take down the Halloween decorations. I brought the bins up from the basement for all the indoor stuff. We are slowly filling them.

No modeling last night and I am not sure about today.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Just ordered a bunch of husky stacks.  CN, CP and UP.

Worked hard.  Finished at 2 and got paid 8 hours.

Warmed up.  Fred at farms.  Bucks chasing does.
Good morning all. Didn't think we'd have a winner declared yet, but we still have those crazies and their organized riots, regardless. That says a lot that they're there to riot, pillage and plunder, not to protest anything.

Temps still suppose to be in the 90's for the next few days, then down into the mid-60's by the weekend with a chance of rain. No actual rain, just a chance of it.... Icon_rolleyes

Have a couple of those small DC power packs I wanted to use to control my lighting, but it's no surprise that they can't do what their rating says they can so I was going to build a variable power supply until I checked Amazon. I got a 3 to 12 volt, 5 amp supply with a digital readout for $17 with free shipping. I couldn't buy a transformer for that if I were to build one. It's small, so I wonder about the 5 amp rating, but I'll be happy with anything over 2 amps.  Icon_e_biggrin

Have a great day, and stay cool. Well, some of you won't find that difficult, me, I'm still not turning on the A/C.... Nope
Greetings, gang.

Another sunny and warm day ahead. Got to 78 yesterday. Only 75 for today but I'll definitely take it. 40 right now.

Voting was easy yesterday. No line at all. After that I burned one pile of branches and started on the toyboxes. Trying to figure out how to make a certain cut. Also went for a 12 mile bike ride. Today will be a carbon copy of yesterday (except for the voting).

All stay safe.

Tom

PS gas price back down to $1.79
Good morning. Sunny and warming up. Got leaves to get up. Not in a hurry. Thing is, hasn't frosted or frozen so lots of pecan leaves to fall. When it does, they come down in a hurry. Nice thing is, if dry, easy to blow and they mulch into fine dust. Just is a dusty and messy lawnmower ride over them. Then off to the garden to dump.

Have a good one.
Sun and 60s today.
Since the elections over I can say this if sleepy Joe wins we can say goodbye to 2 dollar gasoline.
No exciting news here. The stores are pretty well stocked. We got everything on our list.

Good afternoon folks

It is a pleasant 61 going to 63.

I have already made a run to the grocery store. I had to get some things needed for dinner.

I may have over done it yesterday with moving the Halloween decoration bins. My back was killing me last night and is still hurting today. Bending over and standing straight are painful today. See how I feel later if I do any modeling.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Good morning all, still no results on who is going to run the country for the next four years. We do still have those rioting in "protest" however...... And guess what, we have another wave of panic buying. Went to Walmart yesterday, paper product shelves are empty, people leaving with carts full of cases of water. Went to Costco to pick up dinner (hot ribs), and the same story, no paper towels, toilet paper in six-packs rather than 36, and almost out of bottled water. I was wondering why Home Depot had aisles full of bottled water, not a usual item for them, but they're probably gone by now. What the heck is going on????? We are allowing a bunch of crazies to control our lives..... Curse Curse

Just a hint about going to Costco, a friend of mine that lives near one said that he normally goes there late in the afternoon, easy in, easy out. He's right, got there around 3:00, found a decent parking spot, and when I was ready to go, I had a choice of several empty checkout lanes. No more standing in lines during their "senior hour", unless, of course, I need toilet paper, bottled water or paper towels. Icon_rolleyes
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 41 headed for sunny and 71 later this is afternoon.

Another busy day yesterday. Got the first toybox assembled. Also got the rest of the bushes burned and went for a 19 mile bike ride. I've been parking in the street because the garage is full of wood, power tools, and sawdust. Also used the driveway as my burn area. Decided to get Papa Murphy for supper. On the way home decided I could put the car in the driveway since I'm finished burning. Came around the corner and parked in the street. My driveway had been turned into a basketball court. Two young girls playing basketball. As I got out of the car before they could say anything I said "No! This is my supper. You can't have any."

Back from my massage and also dropped off a bill while I was out. Yesterday while I was riding my bike I saw that gas was down to $1.77 so I thought I would fill the car this morning. Gas had jumped overnight to $1.94. Ridiculous! Anyway next up on my list is to feed me. Then I need to herd some more leaves before it turns windy again. After that will be more toybox work and probably a bike ride.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning folks

It is 50 on its way to 65.

Didn’t get much done yesterday. The pain in my back limited my activities. The back pain is almost gone today so I will carefully attempt a few things.

Today I hope to get some modeling in. Package arrived yesterday with 6 New York Ontario & Western Bowser 70-ton open hoppers. Also got metal wheels and more Kadee couplers. I have one package that was supposed to arrive on Monday but did not. Post office says it should be here today but when I check the tracking it says it is still being processed in Kearny, NJ. It has been there since October 29th. If it does not show up today, I will contact the sender to see what we do next.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Morning all.  I was drinking coffee and eating Wifey's good pumpkin bread. Shirt sleeve weather outside.

More leaf gathering today. Also climb on shelter roof and garage roof and blow off pine straw from neighbor's trees. Bet there is two bails on them.

BTW: single Mom next door is not at home. I went out front yesterday and her front yard was flooded. She has a major water leak. Under house was flooded so bad plumber would not crawl under and see what was leaking. She is up the street staying at her parents'. Think it has been leaking for days. We are on the same water line coming under the street. Our water pressure had been down for days.
I had checked my water by turning off valve in basement, waiting, turning it back on and no water rush in sounds. Will see if I can get Raleigh to give her a break.

Enjoy your day.
