Good morning all. We were just a bit hotter than those guessers thought, it got up to 116 and beat the record by two degrees. There's more in store for the next few days, but I guess it's a lot better than where those folks are that are getting floods, fires and tornadoes.

Gas here is slowly going down, we filled up at Costco a week ago for $2.85.9, but Sunday we were in an area where a few stations are fighting (we used to call them "gas wars"), and we filled up there for $2.81.9. Most other stations around here are still at $2.99.9. Someday they're going to get rid of that 9/10 of a cent. When gas was selling for 15 cents a gallon, that 9/10 made a difference, now, it's just foolishness.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 64 headed for sunny and 80.

Went to Menards yesterday and picked up 10 more solar lights for the Backyard & Southern. Got 2 left and not sure where to put them. Also finished up the repair on the tunnel. One of the retaining walls had collapsed. All better now.

Gas around here is about $2.63. Several years ago Iowa passed a law forbidding the 9/10. A few years later the 9/10 mysteriously appeared again. Seem the gas station owners managed to sneak a bill through to get it added back. Another example of the golden rule - he who has the gold makes the rules.

Not much on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Morning.  Nothing on agenda for today [I hope].  Have had rain showers for two days.  More forecasted for today.  We needed it.  Some places under flash flood warnings.

Guessers were saying DAZ in for some HOT weather.

Have a good one.
Good morning all. I was off a bit by the temps on Monday, it only got to 115, still a record high for that date. It did however, get to 116 yesterday to tie the record. They are saying to expect a cold snap by Friday, temps plummet to around 108, we might have to stoke up the furnace with temps like that. Goldth There's rain in the forecast too starting Friday and into next week. Yeah, I did get the van washed just in time for more rain...

Pat, (Flatt Bear/Duffy) is still on vacation in San Diego, he says the temps there are around 87. I think they never get too much under 70 and stay in the 80's most of the year. Lot's of people from around here go there in the Summer to the point that the call those of us that do, "Zonies". Certainly, with respect, I'm sure..... Cool
Greetings, gang.

Partly cloudy and 60 with an expected high around 80. 50% Chance of rain tonight.

Long day for me yesterday. Feeling under the weather. Multiple frequent trips to the powder room. Feeling somewhat better today but definitely not 100%. More like about 60%.

All stay safe.

No rain but a few spits. Still calling for it. Hot water heater sprung a leak last night. New one sitting outside. Plumber coming this afternoon. Natural gas. I would have done the replacement several years ago. Not now.

Good luck Tom.  That's no fun.
Off to EARLY meeting in Raleigh.  Every 4th Thursday of every month.  Have a good one.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 58 this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. High for today is supposed to be in the upper 70s. Had a brief very heavy rain last evening. Got about 3/8" of rain in about 10 minutes. Next rain predicted for Saturday.

Quiet day yesterday. Slowly recovering. About 85% today. Should be fine by tomorrow.

House cleaning for today. Lady friend coming for a visit through Monday. Then sister-in-law and her husband coming Monday evening for an overnight visit.

Frank - I would give up being mayor just to avoid having to get up that early.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, and a hot one for sure. Yesterday's low was 93, a record low temp for that day, plus the 116 was a new record high for that date as well. Two record-breaking days and one record-tying day so far this week. But, we're scheduled to go back below 110 starting tomorrow and rain in in the forecast again, but then again, around this time of the year, it's hard to tell, a thunderstorm can come out of nowhere, or one can skirt the area and leave us dry.  Remember though, I did get our van washed.....

Other than the weather, there's not much else to talk about.
Morning all.  Been sitting on deck with Wifey drinking coffee.  Now to get ready for luncheon in Raleigh.  That is it.  Maybe go by Harbor Freight as hangers for hoses/cords on sale.  Air hoses too.

Have a good one.
Good morning all. Sad day here in Arizona. State Troopers on I-10 struggling with trying to arrest someone and that person got a hold of one of the Trooper's guns. Two were shot, one didn't make it. He was just on the job a few months, and ex-Navy as well. The second Trooper was shot in the shoulder, but is going to pull through, a third was hurt but OK. Some people talk about police brutality, organize protest and riots whenever something goes wrong, and maybe there are a few in the force that don't act like heroes, but then again, we have the overwhelming majority of them that are heroic in everything they do....
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 66 headed for the upper 70s with a slight chance of rain this afternoon.

Busy couple of days. Went to a wedding out of town for a friend of a friend of a friend. Boring evening. Home early. Nothing on the agenda for today. Sister-in-law and her husband arriving tomorrow for an overnight stay.

Don - saw nothing here about the AZ troopers but saw a couple of other reports about other officers being shot. Just so sad.

All stay safe.

Wpw. can't say for sure, but I think the humidity and dew points are so high that it's a good substitute for rain. There were a few drops of mud on our windshield this morning, and it was tinkling out around 7AM, but nothing big since then. Those drops on the windshield could have just been from the humidity.

School starts this week for those that haven't already started. It's still mindbogglingly for me to accept that they start school when it's still hitting over 110, and we still are in the middle of our monsoon season. When I was going to school in NJ, we didn't start until after Labor Day, but then again, we didn't start our summer vacation until mid June.
Passing through.  Was gone yesterday and busy today.  Did make Sunday School.  Gone to farms tomorrow.
Greetings, gang.

Partly cloudy and 72 outside my window this morning.  High for today is supposed to be near 80.

Lady friend left this morning and sister-in-law and her husband due in around dinner time.  They leave tomorrow and then I can rest again.

All stays safe.
