Yeah, most likely. There's an Army proving grounds just north of Yuma where they do a lot of testing now. Don't know what they did back then. I was stationed at the air base, which I think was also active back in WWII. That's where they trained pilots doing target practice.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and dry at the moment. Had 2.5 inches of rain overnight, in addition to the 1.5 inches accumulated during the day yesterday. I guess that's one way to break the dry spell we've had lately. 67 right now headed for the low 80s.

Quiet day yesterday. I did get in a bike ride and got the monthly bills paid. Also found the error in my checkbook so all is right with the world again. Dr. appointment at 9. No other plans for today.

Frank - lady friend was here for 5 days last weekend. I will be headed to her place next weekend (17th & 18th).

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, here we are in the start of yet another week, and it's almost a 1/4 the way through August already. It's been hot, over 110 the past few days, but there's hope, they have rain in the forecast later this week. I really don't think it matters, we had some of our worse storms on days that didn't forecast rain, and a whole bunch of dry days on ones that they said it could rain.
Back from farms early.  4 backpack sprayers sprayed.  Walked miles with it on back.  Soaked from sweat.  Was HOT and HUMID.  Showered and went to County Commissioners.  Just before the bottom fell out here.  Wifey says 2 1/2 inches.  Eek

Later.
Frank, sounds like a lot of work in the heat you're having there. Yeah, our temps are higher, 114 yesterday, but as they say, it's a dry heat (hah!). Better yet, we just stay indoors with the A/C turned to, "freeze". Icon_lol
Greetings, gang.

68 headed for 80 with clearing skies. Got another quarter inch of rain last night. Had a little surprise when I looked at the rain gauge. I had forgotten to empty it yesterday and at first thought we got another 2.5 inches of rain overnight.

Went to the doctor yesterday. Nothing exciting. Scheduled for a colonoscopy at the end of the month. Took about a gallon of blood yesterday for tests. Should get the results back today.

Nothing major planned for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Slept until 9.  Wifey cooked link sausages and French toast.  Chores and then Town Board tonight.

Wifey still says, "I'm sure I dumped the rain gauges Sat."  Then wonders as 2 1/2 inches that fast.  Think its right.  Rained hard.
Greetings, gang.

60 and sunny headed for 85 and sunny. Looks to be a beautiful week with similar temps predicted for the next several days. No rain in sight.

Got the laundry done yesterday while waiting for test results. Wasted day as she never called. If she doesn't call by this afternoon I'll be calling her. On the other hand I figure no news is good news.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, somewhere in the area they had a nice storm last night, just not where we live. Temps still hitting records, yesterday it made it down to only 92, broke the record for the low by 2 degrees. They still have rain in the forecast right through the weekend. Still lots of cleanup needed around town from the storms last week. I counter 15 trees down along a 1/2 mile stretch by the spring training facility. Most were Palo Verde or Mesquite, two popular types that grow well in our desert areas.

Tom, I know what you mean, and the minute you go out to check the mail or run to the store, they'll call.... Wallbang
Town Board went great.  Rained again last night.  Hot and humid.  Some more outside chores to do.  Wifey dreams them up to stay busy.  She is going back to work part time soon.  GOOD.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 67 headed for sunny and 87 with a 20% chance of rain late this afternoon.

Another quiet day around here. Finally called the doctor's office yesterday afternoon but still no word. Getting annoyed. I did clean some windows (inside and out) on the main floor and washed the drapes. The drapes are large enough that I can only do one set at a time. Still more window cleaning and drape washing for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Not and hot and humid but still is.  Not much on agenda.  Finish gutter project [not much to do on that] and run errands.  Got a meal tonight for VISTAs leaving.  They helped us this summer on Food Security Task Force.

Babysitting as Wifey off to visit friend Gail in Athens GA.

Rained again last night.  Not suppose to for a few days now.

Have a good one.
Good morning all, kind of a hazy day today. Had storms all over the valley last night, some were destructive, trees and polls down and some flooding, but ours was mild, not even a puddle. That's suppose to change today since they're forecasting heavy storms in our area. That's what they say anyway.... Icon_rolleyes

Tom, we usually get test results here within a day or so. We had our physicals last Friday, gave test samples to the lab that afternoon, and we got a call on Monday morning with the results. Don't blame you for being annoyed.
Hello Blue
Sun and 86 at the moment.
Some grocery shopping this morning.
Very little rain, grass is kinda green with some brown mixed in. Reminds me of salt & pepper hair.

Hi, Blue.
I'm back on; did anyone notice? The password I wrote down didn't work on the iPad we took with us.
Just reviewed a month of posts -- any further word on Catt?
We had a pleasant 4 weeks in "Northern" Michigan. Halfway through, our microwave started "talking to us in Morse code" as one internet inquirer posted. Then it stopped doing anything. I got dimensions for a replacement, but couldn't move it out of its hole, even after removing the 4 screws in the face plate.
Crossing the border went well both times, but an hour lineup going out and a couple of minutes with the agent.
