Greetings. gang.

Cloudy and 65 right now with an anticipated high of about 80 with clearing skies. Then a chance of storms this evening.

Very quiet day yesterday. Only accomplishment was getting the yard mowed. Today is looking to be about the same level of activity.

My older daughter called a couple days ago and now I'm to be the host for a Labor Day cookout. No big hardship. She's bringing pasta salad and brownies. I'll provide potato salad and and meat. Lady friend will do baked beans. Oh, and I have to run the trains. The sacrifices I have to make for kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Looks to be a fun day.

Frank - my sympathy on having to deal with the granddaughters. They can sometimes be a handful.

All stay safe.

Tom
Think boys are easier.  They go do things.  These stay inside and get in trouble.  Don't know quite and be still.

Cooler and nice today.  No rain for a change.

They get delivered to their Mom this afternoon.  Yippee.
Good Friday morning to ya all. Well, the TV news was showing downpours, hail and flooded washes, so I looked out the window only to find everything calm and dry. Those of us who want rain seem to be sideswiped.

On grandkids, my wife was the oldest girl of nine kids and helped raise most of them. After raising two of our own, she said that she had enough of kids for a while, and so we rarely babysat the grands for that reason. We did, but not a lot. And now, as old folk, we can get annoyed when kids are running around a restaurant, but we know that they have to go home with their parents and we go home in peace and quiet.

I've started to unpack a lot of my structures. A few small parts broken or bent, but for the most part, they survived four moves and storage.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny, humid, and cool this morning. 62 with 95% humidity and some light fog. High for today is supposed to be in the mid 80s.

Slow day yesterday. Today is shaping up to be pretty quiet also. Went to dinner with some friends last night for ribs. Excellent dinner. The drawback is that it's an hour drive from my house.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone. Got woke up late last night with thunder and lightning banging all around us. Got up this morning and it's as dry as a bone... Not a drop fell in our neighborhood.

Yeah Tom, good to have dinner with friends. We are on the NW edge of our valley consisting of around 20 towns and cities. And because of where we are, there are very few nice restaurants close by. We have a few chains, Red Lobster, Chilies, and a few others, but it seems every time they open a new place, it's on the other side of the valley, and that includes chains. I look at the restaurant reviews and most of the good ones are an hour or more drive away. White Castle just announced their first store in Arizona and it'll be in Scottsdale, about a mile from where we used to live and a good 35 miles from where we are now. Not that the White Castle is fine dining, it's just an example that not only the rain bypasses us....
Afternoon.  Mowed and edged.  Now shower and get ready to go to Hunters Haven Anniversary event.  Church fund raiser tonight.

Wifey and I agree.  Will keep twins but not the oldest.  She has a problem that needs fixing.

Have a good one.
Silent Sam Confederate statute has to be reinstalled at UNC as required by State law.  :Thumbsup 7 arrested.
Greetings, gang.

Hazy and 72 at the moment with a predicted high in the mid 80s and a 60% chance for thunderstorms late this afternoon.

Quiet day yesterday. Got new blades ordered for my edger. The guy at the mower shop had F1 qualifying on. Spent some tie discussing F1 with him. Then we veered off to video games. As a result of that conversation I bought a new (to me) game at Gamestop yesterday afternoon. Tried it out after supper last night and its going to be a learning experience to say the least. Also got some groceries and other supplies at Walmart. Also discovered that I may need a new HDMI cable. Having video problems with the games. The other two HDMI outs work fine.

This morning is an F1 race. After that my day is open.

Frank - twins can be challenging also. A former neighbor told us at one time when her twins were about two that she was pretty sure they had a secret language that said "you go this way and I'll go that way."

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, 'twas a nice day yesterday, not too hot, not too muggy. Those kind of days are hard to find around here this time of the year. Still have rain in the forecast for at least a few more days, then there's this "high" blowing in to take any moisture away and make it hot again.

I've been going though the structures I saved from my old layout, and most have some sort of damage. Some easy repairs, some difficult since some of the broken things were originally put together early in the building process. Some things got too hot and are now warped. Maybe a heat gun will do the trick.... Hey, at least I've got something to do now that doesn't require moving around a lot which is a good thing right now...
Good Morning Blue
Cloudy, humid and a forecast of 88 today
A wedding last night, wife's side of the family
I'm not a suit person, It took 3 tries to get the tie knot.
Nothing planned for today.

Being slow today.  Fall like outside for a few days.  No rain which is good.  Chancellor at UNC trying to side step the law.  Also, investigation why UNC PD stood and let it happen.  Everyone thinks they were ordered by Admin.

Have a good week ahead.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny, breezy, and 74 this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. High for today is supposed to be in the upper 80s. Had a nice thunderstorm and 3/4 inches of rain last night.

Quiet day yesterday. Went to Menards to get some pea gravel for the trains and ran into a friend who I hadn't seen for quite a while. Nice conversation. On my bike ride yesterday I saw a doe and two fawns who had mostly lost their spots and were pretty much all brown. The day before I had seen a small fox. Makes for some entertaining and interesting bike rides.

Only project for today so far is to stock up on jello and popsicles. Start my fasting tomorrow for colonoscopy on Wed.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, I haven't a clue as to what the weather is going to be like today and I don't think those TV guessers know either. We'll know for sure by this time tomorrow though, so stay tuned... We might have gotten a bit of rain the other night, no signs or puddles or new trees down, but we did have a few mud spots on our van telling me that there was some dust and enough rain to make it stick, just not like other areas that got heavy winds and flooding. Time to get the van washed, but not if it's going to rain again soon.

Still working on unwrapping structures. Just about every one of them have some damage, so I have work to do on them all. I have to find my scrap pile and spare parts since some details are not only broke off, but they're gone to a better place.

Yeah Frank, I hear you. It seems like we've given pseudo-authority to the academia, or they've taken it on their own. I just wonder what the youth of today is learning from these people.
Morning.  Was out way early to great the Rolesville Charter School kids on their first day at the new school.  Now resting up before yard work.

Tom, wildlife watching is fun.  Why I deer hunt.  Mostly look and watch.

Have a good one.
Good morning all, it was kind of chilly when we went out to go to breakfast. The TV lady says it got down to 79 so I can see why. Almost time to break out the long johns. Hey, we still have about a month to go before we see the snowbirds flying back from the colder climates. I spotted one the other day, a 35' RV towing an SUV. Typical, but a bit early.
