Well guys, there's an upside to everything, isn't there???? Icon_e_biggrin

I'll not ever forget the colonoscopy where they asked me if it was OK for a student nurse to put in my IV. I agreed, and ten minutes later with my hand sore and full of holes, I yelled, "STOP". I agreed to be a test subject, not a pincushion. If there was an upside to this, I can't remember what.... Nope
Just found this on the National Weather Service site. Talk about being in the center of the bullseye.

Greetings, gang.

Rain and 66 this morning. Looks like it might let up later this morning so family can come over for cookout.

Got last minute projects done so yard and house look nice. Sat down to watch football last night. Severely disappointed. Lightning delay and eventually cancelled due to storms. First cancellation in 128 years. Have to wait another week.

On tap for today is the aforementioned picnic.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, no rain in the forecast until next weekend. There was some for this weekend, but they took it out. Something about those squiggly lines going in a different direction and those colored things like Tom shows on his mad were all gone. Starting to stay dark a bit longer each day. I guess it's getting shorter though for those south of the equator. Never been further south than the tip of Florida. I had a job offer in Australia back around 1970. I did some research and found that there was too much to adjust to. We would have to leave all our appliances and vehicles behind, learn to drive on the wrong side of the road and learn to speak OZ. That plus a few other things made me decide to stay right here where I come closer to knowing what I'm doing. 35 Crazy
Afternoon all.  Wifey has vertigo.  Took her to WakeMed Urgent Care up the street.  Now has meds and asleep.  Oysters for lunch from Off the Hook up the street.  Crowded.  Was over crowded last night so went to Fire House Foods. Hot and humid.  Lots of tomatoes and hot peppers.  Rain???  10% on us about every day.  Had a shower yesterday afternoon.  Wasn't suppose to.

Have a good holiday.
Happy Labor Day, gang.

Cloudy with a light mist this morning. 71 right now with a guesstimated high of 77 and a 70% chance of rain.

Picnic turned out great. Had lots of fun and good food. Off to a shaky start with a light shower while I was getting the train set up but that cleared out and the rest of the day was nice but very humid.

Today lady friend and I are headed out to do some shopping here and in Ames (about an hour south).

All stay safe.

Tom
Good Monday morning to everyone and a Happy Labor Day to those that celebrate it. I-17 southbound should be a joy to be on today, along with the Beeline Highway. Bumper-to-bumper for many miles, it hasn't change in years. Families coming back from the high country, Flagstaff, Prescott and Payson are all favorites to get away from the heat. We used to have a cabin just north of Prescott, we sold it a long time ago, mostly because of the drive. It was more relaxing just to stay at home. Any benefits we gained by staying at the cabin was lost on the drive home.
Sun and another day in the 90s. That's way above average for here. Heat storms are possible today so the guesser's say.
We had our holiday gathering with the kids yesterday but plenty of food left over for today if we want to go back.
Hope everyone has a safe holiday.
S.J.
Same old same old weather wise.  Slept till 8.  Cooked red hots and eggs for Wifey.  She has to be better as talking on the phone 90% of the time [right now].  Going to Lowes for 10 bags of mulch for her.  Not much else going on.  Glad we do not go anywhere for this holiday.  Traffic will be still on I 40 and I 85 this evening.

Tom, enjoy the visit.  Wink

Have a good one.
Good morning everyone. Yesterday as we got into the van to go to breakfast (the Royal Cafe had 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 bacon or sausage for $1.99 and coffee for 99 cents for Labor Day), we had mud spots all over it. So, it did rain Sunday night. The morning news showed flooded streets about 10 miles to the south of us, so it was a pretty good storm for a while. And yeah, it wasn't in the forecast either....

The USPS is having financial difficulty, but had to drop the cost of a first class stamp a while back. They have no qualms abut raising the cost of box rent though. I looked back and in 2010, rent for the size we use was $35 for half a year. I just got the bill, it is now $60 for the same period. I think congress needs to do something about their situation and they need some drastic changes to keep up with the times.
Morning.  Hot [98] and humid [57%].  Not September weather.  Next week is suppose to be better.  Errands today, SIL's birthday dinner and Town Board tonight.  Class A sent back for second time is fixed he says.  Had to guide him on how to repair.  One pickup roller was ticking up and one not working at all.

Hope all have a good one.
Good morning, I can't believe that it's Wednesday already, "Hump Day" to some folks, I guess 'cause it's the middle of the work week.

We were headed out to get a bite to eat yesterday, then go to the car wash after since the TV weather lady said the next few days would be dry and OK to get your vehicle washed. (She had green "car wash" stickers on each day of this week.) We were looking at this ominous cloud heading our way and by the time we reached the restaurant, it was sprinkling. So I was wondering, if we did get our van washed  on her say-so, would that make her liable in this case for "fake news"? The shower was light and brief, but we drove past the car wash on the way back home.... Waiting
Morning.  Hot and humid.  Where is fall?  Off to specialist and then haircut.

Where is Tom?  Had lady friend visiting.  Hasn't come up for air?????  Icon_e_surprised

Have a good one.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 68 at the moment with a predicted high of about 72.  Looks like the rain is finally over.  It's been raining off and on since Saturday morning.  Final total is about 3.5 inches according to the Official Rain Gauge For The World.  A little short of last Saturday's prediction (scroll to the top of the page) but still quite a bit of rain.  Southeast Iowa is predicted to get more rain this weekend as the remnant of hurricane Gordon meanders past the state.  Not a bad thing as that portion of the state has been in drought conditions for most of the summer although it's probably a case of too much, too late.

Lady friend went home yesterday and I spent the day dealing with the aftermath of the weekend full of relatives, good food, great-grandkids, and good food.  Did I mention the food?  Yeah, it was good.

Not much planned for today.  If the roads dry off I may go for a bike ride this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Same old.  Hot and humid.  Class A suppose to be repaired on truck for delivery today.

Tom, I think more than food was good.  Icon_e_surprised Thumbsup
