Hah, election day, voted early by mail, still getting annoying phone calls and a constant barrage of commercials telling me who not to vote for. Waiting

Temps should reach into the low 80's, chilly in the early AM, leave jackets at home a few hours later, turn on the A/C around noon.
Hello Blue
We had a cloudy day in the 50s.
Voted. A large ballot, bigger than normal turnout legalizing Marejawanna is on the state ballot.
No train news.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 29 with sunshine supposed to be showing up later this morning. High for today is only supposed to be in the mid 30s.

Went to the gym yesterday. Could only swim less than a quarter mile. Foot kept cramping up. Then I tried walking the track. Could only do about a half mile. Hip started bothering me. Must have done too much the day before.

On tap for today is a trip to the aforementioned gym. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Also need to make a grocery run. Paper hasn't shown up yet. Unusually late. Normally here by 4:30 or 5.

Don - deepest sympathies for your struggles with wardrobe/heating/cooling.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  69 and sunny.  Big mess here.  Greatest sheriff ever here got upset.  A real dud has been elected.  Straight Dem ticket voters.  The sheriff has not had anything bad and all praises.  Usually he gets 65% to 70 vote as split ticket voters.  Didn't happen.  New guy is a retired deputy who didn't do his job when he was deputy.  Sad situation.  One good thing was my nonpolitical mom beat the Dem and Repub candidates for our school board rep.  Shut them down.  She took no donations and spent very little.

Got busy evening.
What will the "old" sheriff do? Become a deputy under his former deputy or run for sheriff somewhere else or become a police officer somewhere? Or is he old and wealthy enough to retire (and become a model railroader)?
Frank - congratulations on your mom's win.

Forgot to mention this morning - when I went to vote yesterday there was a sign out front that said "Curbside Assistance. Inquire Within." Our tax dollars at work.

Tom
Good morning, chilly to start with as usual, but confusing as the day goes on. Jacket, sweater or tank top and flip-flops? We see them all depending on if they're local or a snowbird. Yeah Tom, it is a quandary how to set the HVAC, especially in the car, but no complaints from here after enduring a long, long summer of 110+ temps.

Feeling a bit better, still can't do much. Dr. says I'm recovering, just that us old folk take way too long to do that.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy (again) and 28 outside my window. We were promised some sunshine yesterday but it never arrived. High for today is supposed to be only 33 with chances for snow tonight and tomorrow. Only about an inch and it probably won't stick around. According to our friends at the National Weather Service it's supposed to stay 10-20 degrees below normal through the middle of next week.

Went to the gym yesterday and they have some new elliptical machines. Got a good workout on that. Also went to the grocery store and did 5 loads of laundry. Today I plan to burn the bridal wreath branches I trimmed last weekend. Also clean up some more leaves from the yard. Only have half as many leaves to clean. Late yesterday afternoon I looked out the window and saw my neighbor (who has a lawn vacuum) cleaning the north and west sides of my house. Now that's what I call a neighbor.

All stay safe.

Tom
Hello Blue
Cloudy and feels cold @ 40 degrees.
Big election ballot in Michigan Tuesday, some went my way, some didn't.
I don't know when it will take affect but they voted small amounts of marjawanna as legal.
Its also legal in Canada but the feds are already warning not to cross the border with it. It's still a federal crime.

Early out this AM.  Most of the day retreat [Human Services].  Got home and Wifey wanted to go out to eat.  Home now.  Off to the east tomorrow around noon.

Tom, for clarification.  The lady that won school board was not my mom but my candidate who was a mom.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

26 and cloudy in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. That's as warm as it's going to get for today. Temps will start to fall and it will be down to 20 by this evening with a predicted low for tomorrow morning of 10.

Got the leaves cleaned up and the branches burned yesterday. On;y took a couple of hours and all was gone. After lunch I gathered up the ashes and did a load of laundry due to the smoky clothes. Then my Thursday group got canceled sot I had to cook my own supper. Found a couple of chicken legs in the freezer so I made some potatoes and gravy and a vegetable to go along with them. Downright tasty.

Nothing much planned for today other than to put the glass in the front porch door and store the screen for the season.

Frank - thanks for the clarification.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all. Frank, sometimes calling someone "mom" can be confusing. I call Peggy "mom" a lot, (the mother of our children), lots of old folk do that. I dropped her off at the hair dresser one day, and when I picked here up, the gal asked me if she was my mother. It took me a while to realize why she asked....

Temps are just nice for this time of the year, cold in the AM early, into the 70's by noon, and around 80 later on. No rain is sight, I guess they think we had enough last month, over 5 1/2", a record for October.

Still haven't declared a winner in a couple of races here in Arizona, back and forth, still have some 500,000 ballots to count. It seems to happen every year lately.

Prayers for those affected by that shooting in California. Too many crazy people running around and out of control. Don't know if there's a solution...
Morning.  Escape.  Headed east to hunt.  Back tomorrow night.  Some showers.  Box stand stay dry inside.  Fair and cooler tomorrow.  First freeze tomorrow night/Sunday morning.

Have a good one.
Hello Blue
First snow this morning but stayed above 32 so the roads were just wet. Snow stuck to everything else. Almost all gone now.
Also first day of flannel shirt season for me.....

Greetings, gang.

COLD! That's the weather word for today. 9 degrees outside my window this morning. High is predicted to be in the upper 20s.

Did not get the glass in the front screen door. Too wind (30+ mph) to handle a large sheet. Will try again this afternoon. Nothing else planned for today.

All stay safe.

Tom

PS out and about this morning. Gas is down to $2.45.9
