Afternoon.  Partly cloudy and 60.  Sunday School and then attended by first Lutheran service.  At 6, attend a Muslim service with meal.

Let another big and big antlered 6 walk late yesterday afternoon.  Feel real good about it.  I know I could have killed him.

Tom, you have done a great job with your situation.  Got a great attitude.  Goes a long ways in "recovery".  God bless.

DAZ, prayers for you too.

Maybe some R&R before the 6 thingy.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 20 as opposed to the cloudy and 25 predicted by our friends at the NWS. High for today is supposed to be around 30 and it should hit the upper 40s by Thursday. No precipitation in the forecast until Friday.

Thank you all for your kind words. SJ - that had to have been a horrible time for your family. My condolences to you.

Quiet day yesterday. This morning I'm headed tot eh gym and this afternoon I need to start housecleaning. Daughter and son-in-law will be here for Thanksgiving.

All stay safe.

Tom
Sunny and 59.  County Commissioners.  Later.
Good morning all. Temps are back up in the normal range for the past few days. Today it should get up to 75, but then some sort of cold front hits us and high temps get back into the 60's for a while. Still not complaining though. Skiing is open up in Flagstaff, low temp there yesterday was 11 with some snow, but thanks to the addition of man-made snow, they opened the snow bowl early.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving. Went to Walmart yesterday afternoon. BIG mistake, 10 million people there also doing their Thanksgiving shopping. Normally we go really early and the only things we have to avoid are the stockers and pallets of boxes in the aisles.

Thanks again for the concerns and prayers, they are welcome and helping for sure. Feeling better and better each day, just going to take a while to get back to normal.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 20 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. High for today is supposed to be 37 with clearing skies.

Quiet day yesterday. Did some laundry and that's about it. Today I've been to the gym and this afternoon I need to continue cleaning for daughter's visit on Thursday. Gas is down to $2.30.9.

Don - glad to hear you are improving.

All stay safe.

Tom
Greetings, gang.

Foggy and 21 outside my window this morning with a predicted high in the mid 30s. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be in the mid 40s with sunshine. May run the train and start a fire in the pit tomorrow. The weather is interfering with my plans for the weekend. I had planned to go to Sioux Falls for a hockey tournament and be back on Sunday in tome for visitation The forecast is turning ugly for Sunday travel so I may cancel the trip. It's more important for me to be here for my daughter.

Not much to report from yesterday. Sorted and processed some paperwork concerning my wife's estate. Today will see the continuation of house cleaning and possibly the making of a pumpkin pie. Still undecided on that. On one hand it will be nice to get that out of the way. On the other hand since it is my favorite food I will be tempted to sample it before my guests arrive. One year when it was only my wife and I here for Thanksgiving I finally, after decades of begging, convinced her that we should have a piece on Wed. Best pie I ever tasted.

Gas is down another 2¢

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and you and all your loved ones arrive safely at their destinations.

Tom
Chilly today compared to yesterday.  Friend Gail is here from GA.  Getting ready for stress and illness from Wifey.  Always when big meals.  Just smile and carry on.

Tom, hope all goes well for you.

Have a good one.

Good morning all, and a Happy Thanksgiving (aka:Turkey Day) for those here that celebrate it today. I was thinking about hiring a forklift to bring in the newspaper today, it's, of course, packed with flyers and must weigh about a sack of cement. I'd hate to have to be delivering them today, but then again, it happens every year at this time....

Going to stay home a roast a small turkey, still too worn out to get back doing social things. Would love to have a chance at buying some of those bargain things in those fliers, but I think I'll wait a few days and just go through the dregs, maybe we can get lucky and find something that we really want. There was a shot yesterday on TV of a couple camping out in front of Best Buy, tent, camp stove, chairs....the whole bit, but Best Buy doesn't open until later tonight or tomorrow. Is it really worth all that just to be first in line? We'll see after I've gone through all those fliers....
The forum ate my post! I just typed out a nice post and it disappeared. I probably forgot to hit the post button but I couldn't have done that so I'm sure it's the software's fault!

Happy Thanksgiving, gang.

It's a very foggy 28 degrees outside my window this morning with a predicted high in the mid 40s. Visibility is down to about 2-3 blocks but the fog is supposed to burn off later this morning. The NWS is predicting snow and high winds for Sat. night and Sunday but aren't giving any amounts yet.

Quiet day around here yesterday. Today I need to make the pumpkin pie and get the oil changed on the snow blower in preparation for the impending storm. Daughter and son-in-law will be here late this afternoon. They have another family dinner in northern Iowa during the day with son-in-law's family. I'm sure it will not be very cheerful, having just lost his mom. I plan to keep it very low key this evening.

Frank - doing well at the moment. Thank you.

All stay safe.

Tom
Tom, I've done that a dozen times, but found that if I haven't closed my browser, I can hit the "back" button a couple of times and find the post that didn't post.

Happy Thanksgiving all, Better late than never! Made it back to the house on Wed evening, it will be good to kick my boots off in my own house for a while. Its even a bit warmer here in Tennessee, so that's a happy thing! Have to get everything prepped and get the smoker fired up for the holiday and all the family coming over.
Still trying to get my boots off! took a short nap, family started showing up time to get back at and help cook, check the smoker. set the table. Still trying to get them boots off! Time to help with all the clean up and getting everything put away. the night has grown long and cold. Bring some wood in for the fire and time to kick back! Finally got my boots off ! time to relax till the grandkids get here today!
I might even have a chance to hit the woods this weekend.
I hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving and has a good weekend...
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 43 but that's about as warm as it's going to be today. Rain moving in by late morning and lasting for most of the day. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.

Quiet day yesterday. Daughter and family showed up around 5. Some low key family teasing but everyone in a somber mood. Nothing planned for today other than football at 11. Hope everyone had a good holiday yesterday.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, yes, I also hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Saw long lines at Best Buy on TV, some waiting as long as 36 hours for them to open last night at 6:00. I doubt that those folks had a great Thanksgiving, but then again, they were doing what they chose to do. They were giving out coupons for $100 TV sets to the people in the beginning of the line, if that's what they were there for. I see by the ads that just about every store, even Fry's (Kroger) grocery stores had TV's for sale. We're in the market for a bigger TV, but I think I'll have to wait, I doubt that I could stand the rush of people and the long checkout lines, even if I did find what we wanted. I remember once going into Fry's Electronics and seeing the line winding around clear to the back of the store. No need to stay after seeing that. I think Costco, Walmart and Target will be just about the same We'll go out Monday and see if there's anything left. Still a bit low on energy, but I'll try.

Temps were not as cold as they first forecast, it's been in the mid 70's all week, typical for us. But, once again the forecast shows that we'll be bouncing back and forth between a high of 61 to being back in the 70's. Last year, it got up to 85 on Thanksgiving, a bit higher than we needed.
