Greetings, gang.

Here's today's forecast copied directly from the National Weather Service:  Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 2pm, then rain, possibly mixed with snow between 2pm and 3pm, then rain after 3pm. Patchy fog. High near 34. Windy, with an east northeast wind 18 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
And that's just today.  Tonight's forecast is almost as bad with more arriving tomorrow.  Needless to say I'll be staying home for the next couple of days.

Pot of chili for supper tonight and ribs in the crock pot tomorrow night.

All stay safe.

Well Good Morning gentlemen, looks like a warm wet day outside. the weather says rain all weekend staying comfortable between the upper 40's to 60's. Knowing Tennessee, the weather is going to turn wicked bad fast very soon.

well this Christmas is going to be interesting to say the least we are already starting it off with a bang! let me tell you the best way I can before the drugs start to kick back in.
Started the other day at the coffee table my wife and I having coffee and the suggestion of you know the Santa would look nice if you hung it on the chimney like you use to do. So with a grumble and pout I got my boots and hat and headed out, pulled the Santa and ladder out, with rope in hand and ladder mounted I proceeded to climb, when arose such a clatter and bang. I awoke to my 2 paramedic standing above me my dogs waiting patiently and a wife with a very confused look in her eyes. at this point all I knew was it felt like I was on fire and I couldn't move. Off in and ambulance we shall go over the river and through the woods. I arrived at the hospital with a whoosh and crowd gathered fast. blurred memories of people rushing around and mumbling words I didn't understand. I lay on this gurney and cant quite understand what could have gone wrong. then with a whoosh again I'm  on the move getting wet and cold, with a load thunderous roar I hear a Blackhawk  and know I'm in the air. again!!!. Some what more awake and able to see and hear. kind of coherent the doctor explains you have taken quite a fall but don't worry we can fix you all. So here I lie in a hospital bed, broken back and bones they said. another surgery scheduled for Monday.

Morale of this story; Should have stay at work and now I know why my father just grumbled and nodded. Never get on a agree to anything with out at least a full pot of coffee in you and always use the bathroom before you climb a ladder!

Merry Christmas to all! and remember boys and girls just grumble and nod, and walk away!
on a happier note I should be home by Christmas and looks like Im going to have plenty of time to work on my trains!
Sad about GHWB.  Still we knew it was coming.  Still sad.  69 and sunny now.  Had a shower or two over night. More to come.

97 Chevy steers like a new one.  Actually tight.  Worth the $$

Have a good one.
Pennman, sorry to here this, the hazards of trying to improve on what Santa would have done. He'd stayed inside eating cookies and drinking milk. Maybe even look around for a nice sip of schnaps. Nice versing by the way.... Good luck and have a quick recovery.

Temps here a bit chilly, up north they got over 6" of new snow. The Snow Bowl pack is now around 30". Still can't get me to go up there, especially to ski. Rain expected here tonight though tomorrow. All in all, we're recovering from and exceptionally dry summer. Totals this year so far for Phoenix is over 9", about what some people see in a day elsewhere....
Greetings, gang.

Snow and 32 degrees outside my window this morning. High for today is....29. Temps will start to slowly fall as the snow passes. Temperature is not predicted to get above freezing for the next week so it looks like the snow will be here for a while.

Quiet day yesterday. I did go out and shovel about a half inch of slush off the sidewalk. Looks like I'll be able to use the snow blower on what's out there now. Nothing else planned for today.

Pennman - prayers for a speedy recovery.

All stay safe.

A "chance" of rain didn't make it here. Did see some puddles a bit south of us on US60, but not sure if they were from last night or a few days ago. High chance of rain later this week though, rain down this way, snow up in the high country. The folks up in Flagstaff have to be delighted, that's their moneymaker, bringing up the skiers and those that want to spend the day in the snow. Us, we'll just stay around here and soak in the rain, if it comes...

The Christmas tree is trimmed the best it's going to be, no more decorations around the house. When we moved into that retirement community, we gave a lot of our Christmas decorations to our Realtor who is active in the Salvation Army. As a matter of fact, they  organized a bunch of realtors to go out and do the kettle thing once a week during the season. A truck load of our furniture and other things also went to the Salvation Army. Now that we're back living in a house again, we do miss having some of that stuff and actually went back to the Salvation Army store to see if we could buy some of it back.... Too late, that's the breaks I guess....
Afternoon all. House full of people waiting for the Christmas Parade.  Wifey's garden club members waiting to go to the parade route. Parade at 2. Got my wave down pat. Dressed in Christmas shirt, red vest and Santa hat.

Christmas parade in 68 degree weather.

Chat later.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 26 with a predicted high of 23. Yep, temp falling during the day for the second day in a row. Trend will continue for the week with a low for Friday morning predicted to be 2. Not a good week.

Quiet day yesterday. I did spend some quality time with the snow blower. Only plan for today is a trip to the gym.

Frank - is your wrist sore from all the waving?

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning, a chilly one for us, down somewhere in the 40's. Highs yesterday barely made it into the 60's. Today should be the same. Record high for this date is 80 (1995), record low 33 (1991), so it does get into freezing at times. Yes, I've seen snow on rooftops here, but many winters, it does coat the desert floor just north of us, so anyone that wants to come here thinking they're going to thaw out, better think again.
Hello Blue
Cloudy and 35. Gonna be that way all week.
Did some grocery shopping this morning.
Started watching the Detroit Lions game yesterday but decided a nap on the couch was a better use of my time.

Long day.  Good night.
Greetings, gang.

Another cloudy day is underway in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Right now it's 22 and it's actually supposed to warm up today - by a whole 2 degrees. The NWS has lowered its prediction for Friday morning. Now supposed to be -1. With January weather settling in this early maybe spring is just around the corner.

Went to the gym yesterday morning and tried some new stuff. Thought maybe I would pay for it today but don't feel too bad. Did a few loads of laundry yesterday afternoon. This morning it's bill paying time and then off to the gym again.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, temps up a bit, suppose to get in the mid to high 60's today and tomorrow, then drop down again Thursday and Friday with a high chance of rain. We are around 20 miles NW of the Phoenix airport where they get their readings so there is usually a few degrees difference. I'm not sure where they measure our weather info, but I think it's somewhere in the desert on the north edge of town. I remember quite a few years ago, temps up in Bullhead City (on the Colorado River) were higher than the Chamber of Commerce liked. It frequently gets into the 120's up there. Anyway, they decided to move the measuring instruments to the lawn of City Hall, and the official temps dropped there enough to make them happy. It all has to do with location and politics.
Good morning all pull up to the fire and grab a cup of joe. Got cut loose from the hospital yesterday evening just in enough time to get home for the Snow.  went from 60-70s to the low 30 and snow and ice.  Have to spend the next 3 weeks off my feet, cabt pick nothing up heavier than a coffee cup or bowl of cereal. The good thing is I've gone almost a week with out smoking and trying like all hell not to go back to them. feel better and am breathing better.
Well off to the kitchen wife has made us breakfast. you all have a good day and keep warm
Greetings, gang.

Clear and 16 with a predicted high of about 30 for today.

Never did make it to the gym yesterday but I did get the bills paid and also finished some paperwork concerning my wife's estate. Was going to mail that off this morning but I guess it will have to wait a day. No major plans for today.

Penn - good to hear you're home. Always better to be home. Several years ago after a back surgery I was given similar weight restrictions for a while. Was also told to walk a lot so when we went shopping it was a real treat for me. My wife wouldn't even let me push the cart. I didn't mind that. Just walk around the store and look at things (like the young moms out shopping while the kids are in school). The restrictions didn't last near long enough in my book.

All stay safe.
