Yup, so do I. Free is better than replacing the batteries. They also provide white LED's if you can use short leads. Got lots of those single ones too and lots of odds and ends for my shop. Sometimes their 20% off coupons are better on an item than using their sale price coupon. Spent lots of money with them when we had our business. We even had an account when all they had was a warehouse in California. I was surprised one day when they said they had to add sales tax now because they opened a store in Phoenix. That was the start of a new relationship, getting tools in less than a hour rather than waiting a few days for shipping.... 2285_

Temps hit 70 yesterday, looks like the same for today. Rain still in the forecast for this weekend and all next week. That's fine unless we decide to go target shooting one of those days.... Finding a place to shoot is getting harder and harder. The BLM shut down one large area that use to have hundreds of shooters on a weekend. It was messy and dangerous and we wouldn't shoot  there on a bet. They shut to area down "for maintenance" after someone got shot, then recently decided to give the property to the City of Buckeye, which means there is now a few hundred shooters looking for other places to shoot since the city will keep it closed to shooters. Further down I-10 is an area that was great and safe to shoot against a hill, but one of Bill Gate's companies bought a very large swath of land there and immediately posted it. Icon_cry We shoot paper targets and plastic bottles, and clean up after ourselves, not so with a lot of others that bring glass, furniture, large appliances, TV's and computers, then just leave their trash for others to clean up, so I can't blame the property owners for doing what they are.
Greetings, gang.

Quite a change from the past few days. After several days of highs in the 40s and lows in the upper 20s/lower 30s it's downright uncomfortable outside. Right now it's 13 headed for a high of only 23. It's a short lived cold snap though. 30s tomorrow and 40s again by the weekend. Winds yesterday hit 40 mph.

Gas was up by 6¢ yesterday - $1.89.9.

I save the HF coupons but seldom get a chance to use them. The nearest HF is an hour and a half away.

Thank you, David. Very appropriate.

All stay safe.

Tom
Busy morning.  Now to do errands.  Sunny and cooler.

Harbor Freight Inside Track Club member.  Weekly specials cheaper than their sakes prices.  Get the coupons by email.  Store on the way to downtown Raleigh.

Have a good one.
Good morning everyone. Just some really nice days here, into the 70's again yesterday. A slight chance of rain today, better chance over the weekend and into next week. The forecasts all change with time and who's doing to predictions.... Same old cranky complaint, but what the heck, it's a right of passage as you get older... Icon_rolleyes Our comments have graduated from just being strange or weird, to being the eccentric ramblings of an old codger... Misngth
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 12 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the low 30s.

USA Today runs a weekday column of 50 stories from 50 states. Yesterday's story about Iowas was that ranch dressing is this state's most popular dressing. Today's story is about the most popular song on juke boxes in bars. Ahhhh. Life in the slow lane.

Went to the gym yesterday and rode the stationary bike. Looked out the window which overlooks the pool and saw a woman swimming laps in a swimsuit that...let's just say one normally doesn't see at the YMCA. I kept moving and got on my usual machine. Another guy came in and sat on the next bike in front of me, from which he could see the pool. He's probably got a sore neck this morning.

Grocery shopping this morning and maybe laundry this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  35, cold and windy.  Been holding at that temp for a couple of hours.  Changed from mild to WINTER.  Snow in forecast is now a no go for us.  Others yes.  Seems DAZ is sending us the moisture.  Over run by cold air.

Not much but a lunch with a reporter friend on agenda.  Gather fertilizer and nitrogen for food plots.  Head east tomorrow AM.  Fill three feeders and change batteries.

Had Raleigh PD officer shot in face and neck last night by a guy.  No warning.  Walked up to vehicle and was shot.  Guessing shooter ran as big search for him with all LE presence.  One guy in car must have stayed.  He is charged with possession of stolen firearm.  Shooter caught and charged with attempted murder and a long list.  No priors for either.  In their 20's.  Raleigh Officer out of surgery and that is all being said.

Have a good one.
Good morning all, it's Friday, the lead-in to another weekend. For us, it should be a wet one. I've seen 10, 20 and up to an 80% chance of rain for tomorrow and rain in the forecast for the entire week. Well, again, it depends on who you're listening to. Me, I look outside and if the street is wet, it's raining out....

Frank, we had two LE's hit by cars this week. One by a driver that was texting on the freeway. That driver is now being charged with manslaughter. The other LE is in serious condition. Right now, there's no state laws against texting and driving, just local ones. My cell connects to our van by Bluetooth, so I can talk hands-free. If I need to text someone, I'll wait until I'm home since a simple text may take me ten minutes to compose (fat fingers). Home is where we get 99% of our phone calls anyway. Yes, we still have a landline and plan to keep it, and our smart phone is a $60 Tracfone, no $1000 do-dads for us, no $100+ monthly fees either. Ours does what we need it to, it makes and receives phone calls and I can  pick up a 3-month card at Walmart for less than $20....
Sun and 22 degrees, but ah NO SNOW. And I'm love'n it.
Not much activity here tiss winter and us old folk stay indoors.
S.J.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 28 with a chance of freezing drizzle this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the low 30s. Big snowstorm in the southern part of the state but nothing here.

Quiet day yesterday. Went to dinner with some friends last night. Had a lot of laughs (and a couple of beers). This afternoon is a birthday party for one of the great-grandkids and tomorrow is a wrestling meet for another one.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, hope you folks are missed by all the storms and all the damage and disruption that they're causing. Around here, rain likely later today and tomorrow. Some TV weather-guessers skip a few days then another storm through to next weekend, but my weather app shows rain all next week, so who knows.

Big day today for car fans. There's a total of seven auto auctions in the area starting today with Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, and the others following next week. Lots of money changing hands with some cars going to fetch up into the eight figures. You can either register to bid if you're a high-roller, or us common folk can just buy a ticket to look around. Those run from free (one small auction) to up to $190 for a full week pass to Barrett-Jackson. Most run around $40/day for adults, cheaper for kids, but no breaks for old folk. Lots to see, and if you're lucky, you might spot a celebrity or two. Jay Leno is sure to be there somewhere and lots of sports players with money just burning a hole in their pockets... Oh, speaking of that, Randy Jackson's house is also up for auction here in the area. It was on the market for $25,000,000, but is now going to go into a no reserve auction. If you want to bid, just plunk down $100,000 to register and show that you can afford to pay up if you are the winning bidder.  We're passing on this and the other auctions, since I think we've got something else going on for those days.... Icon_lol Just think, buy a house with a 12-car garage and be able to fill it up with antique  and rare cars, all at auction, and probably for less than $100,000,000 including taxes, fees and commissions.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 23 with a predicted high of 33. Had to go out yesterday afternoon and run the snow blower for a couple inches of "30% chance of freezing drizzle." Our friends at the NWS are continuing to uphold their long tradition of highly detailed, accurate forecasts.

Wrestling meet this morning for one of the great-grandkids. Nothing else planned for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Cold rain about to stop per radar.  Ice north and west of us.  Not much on agenda.

Prayers for your LEO's DAZ.  No word on our officer in Raleigh.  Still alive.  Family wants privacy.

Have a great week ahead.
Good morning, yup, it did rain during the night and very early this morning, but stopped before I even got out to get the newspaper. Now they're all saying there's a chance of rain tomorrow, skip Tuesday and then rain for the rest of the week. Nuf said....

Not much else going on, a good time to take it easy while I've got the chance, it looks like a busy week ahead....
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 25 outside my window this morning. The NWS expects the temperature to hit the mid 30s with gradually cooling temps during the up coming week. By Saturday morning they are predicting the overnight low to be -6.

Wrestling meet yesterday was a little disappointing. Great-grandson decided not to participate. He can be a little timid a times (he's 6). Nothing on the agenda for today other than a trip to the gym.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  We missed all the bad ice and snow.  32 and cloudy.  40 for high they say.

Disconnecting computer and replacing it today.

Have a good one.
