Dark and 34 degrees. A layer of ice on everything. The street is slushy.
We got our first real snow on Saturday, normal snow time starts around Thanksgiving.
There was a good crowd at  Sundays train show. I didn't buy anything, just ran trains on the modular layout.

Quote:Don - any ideas on a track plan yet?

Tom, not yet, but it will be simple. My emphases is going to be on the scenery so I want as much room for that as possible. I've got a lot of structures from my old layout and I want to use most of them if I can.
Greetings, gang.

It's gonna be a cold one today. It was 13 when I got up about an hour and a half ago and it's down to 9. By late this afternoon when I go to my weekly group it's supposed to be -1. Overnight low is supposed to be about -5.

Went to the gym yesterday and that's about all. I was going to make tuna and noodles for supper but a roving band a of lazies forced me to just make tuna sandwiches. Cleanup was easy.

All stay safe.

Tom

Edit - forgot to mention the wind is supposed to be in the 30-35 mph range, making for some nasty wind chills.
Home from Human Services Board.  Always an early out meeting.  Was raining and blowing hard.  Seems to slacked off some now.  got a ground breaking for a boulevard this afternoon.  May be a mud stirring.

Tom, not much to do in those temps but stay in.

Later.
Good afternoon, yeah, it's been a kinda lazy day, not doing more than I have to. The sun is out, clear sky and it's starting to warm up might even hit 70 later on.

Seems like all the jet-setters have gone home, but they did leave a chunk of change behind. The average price of the cars sold at auction was just under $95K with the highest being a Porche that sold for $7,000,000. Now we can expect a new wave of private jets to arrive to follow the Phoenix Open golf tournament. It must be nice to have all that free time and money on hand and not having to worry about what to do with either.
Don: If they all bought cars, why would they come by jet?
Greetings, gang.

Clear and cold this morning at -5. High for today is supposed to be about +10. If the forecast holds true next week will be miserable with lows nearing -20 and highs around -5.

Quiet day yesterday. Went to the gym to swim. Hit the shower before swimming and the water wouldn't get warm. Last time this happened the boiler was out which means the pool is cooling down also. Skipped the swimming and walked for a couple miles and rode the stationary bike. Only thing planned for today is another trip to the gym.

All stay safe (and warm).

Good point, just that I doubt that these are cars that anyone will actually drive. There are work horses, play horses and show horses, if you spend a million or so on a horse or car, you can put them in the category of "show", and baby them accordingly. You got me thinking though, I wonder if anyone came with a jet big enough to put one of these show cars into to bring home.... I'm sure they would if they could, just to show off.
Morning.  Slept late for a change.  44 and sunny.  Chores today.  Shipping 6 NS diesels to one guy.  Bought them all.  Cut him a deal.  Never run them as have more Legacy's.

DAZ, saw Scottsdale has driverless electric cars delivering groceries.   Icon_e_surprised

Tom, stay warm.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

12 and cloudy outside my window this morning. Had about an inch of snow which I'll clean up after lunch. Went to the gym this morning to watch grat-grandson play basketball. Lots of fun.

Nothing planned for this afternoon.

Frank - got the furnace guy on speed dial!

All stay safe.

Tom
Saw Gaffen's post about staining ties.
I bought a bag of bridge/switch ties a long time ago and didn't do anything with them. I found that they make pretty good paint stirrers. The half that doesn't go in the bottle can be used to lable with the paint id. Unfortunately, half of mine are for the wonderful paints that were discontinued a few years ago. But at least I have something for a colour match.
Greetings, gang.

Another cold morning. -5 right now warming to the mid 20s with a chance for some light snow. The really cold weather arrives Wed. and Thur. morning with lows near -20. Wind chill effects will be added to that.

Nothing planned for today. Trying to get up the ambition to make a run to Walmart. Newspaper carrier was kind to me this morning. Tossed the paper all the way to the front door. Only had to open the door and pick it up. Some days it's clear out by the porch door.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Chilly start with it warming fast.  Nothing like Tom's temps.  Tom, I'd stay in too unless I had to get out.  You got some bad coming.

Have a good one.
Hello Blue
No I'm not missing. Just been staying indoors except for needed errands.
It's 15 degrees with snow on the ground and more coming tomorrow.
No train news.

Good afternoon, nice sunny day, mid-70's. Good for all those golf fanatics hanging around the Phoenix Open over in.... Scottsdale. Yeah, that's where it's been played now for probably 17 years, no room in Phoenix I guess....

And yeah, I read a article in the local paper about that Frank. They have two delivery cars and deliver only in one zip code area, the same one that we used to live in a long time ago. Apparently, the cars do not have a driver, but do have someone following them, just in case. I just wonder how they get the groceries from the street to the kitchen, drive into the house probably. Nope Don't know for sure, since I didn't read the whole article, it took up an entire page. Icon_rolleyes
