I have a question about Phase 2 EMD NW2 switchers built in 1945.

Would 567A engines be in Phase 2 EMD NW2 switchers built in 1945? In later rebuilding upgrade programs, could they be upgraded to 567ACs and would they get an increase in horsepower?
This might help....

Upgrading from an A block to a C block would not increase the horse power. The B and C version of the 567 are incremental improvements in the overall design mainly in the area of maintenance and air flow of the prime mover.
There is also a BC block upgrade that can be done to a B block to bring it up to the same basic platform as a C engine.

Our F-3 b has a B block in it and our two A's have BC engines in them. We currently have a a lead on a working C block that if all goes well, it will end up in the B.
OK. That explains it. I was worried that C components would change the engine characteristics.
