Been working at moving my layout so I have more room around it to work, and possibly expand it later on. I've used the living room as my den since moving here and the dining room is basically part of it, so my layout now resides in the dining room on the other side of my den. I now have a DIY workbench which, with my son's help, we finished last week. Here's a shot of the workbench:

Here's a couple of shots of my new train room, remember, you're looking a N scale, if it were HO, it would occupy the whole area Icon_e_surprised :

Looking good!
Nice set-up, Don! Applause Applause Applause Applause

Thanks, take another look at the workbench top, you may never see it that way again. I am noted for piling things up. Icon_e_surprised
Yeah, I have several (three for train stuff in the basement), another for general household-type repairs, also in the basement, plus two more in the detached garage (about 100' behind the house - it was, about 150 years ago, a house) and is not really of much use as a garage.  A good place to store junk, though, and a lot of wildlife seems to make itself at home there, too.
All of mine are usually covered in clutter, but every year-or-so, I try to tidy them up so that they'll be useable for a project or two before disappearing again.

Dan,
a very nice workbench you made here.  Applause Thumbsup

But believe me, you will need more light there in the future.

Got one out in the garage too, at least I think it's still there, all I see is a pile of stuff where it is suppose to be Eek

Thanks Lutz, one reason I moved out of the other room is that there was no overhead light. The one that you can see is on a chain and it should stretch to over the layout. If that doesn't work out, I have another plan that will require a bit more work.
Nice bench Don but you need a bigger layout now!
So neat.  So tidy.  So quickly that will disappear!   Eek Misngth

We've all been there, thought maybe I'd just empty the trash can on it so it would look more natural. A clean workbench is really not a good thing. Nope
WOW! , very nice Don! Applause

Love the workbench and really, the whole train room, looks nice and great place to spend time Icon_e_biggrin .

Thanks Deano, my son says now that I have an office/train room combo, all I need to do is to move my bed in and I won't have to leave the room. Well, almost anyway, the fridge is just around the corner. Awesome
And you would need a toilet in the room as well! Big Grin

Got a Port-o-potty on order. Icon_cool Kind of clumsy, but necessary. It wouldn't take up too much room though if I keep it N scale.  Icon_lol

Might make it a little hard to use though! Big Grin
