Tom, the link is in two of my posts a couple of posts ahead of yours, but for old times sake, here it is again:

https://join.skype.com/J4jM0BefVQo6

If things go the way they should, I'll open the meeting a little before the time and each one  should be able to come right in. Do you have to download anything? Don't know, I've had Skype for years, just that it got deleted when I made an illegal U-turn at the front door and so I had to reinstall it.

We'll see, that's what this test trial is all about.
I think the test went very well. It was certainly great to meet Lutz and I appreciate him staying up so late to join us. I prefer the Skype over zoom. I thought the quality was superior. Thanks Tom and Don. It kicks some of the isolation feel away.

Hello Gents,

it was a great expierence for me to meet you live.
And my abilities of speaking English are humble because i simply have hardly any occasions to so. Reading and writing are much better, disticted, but the chat was a great occasion for me to collect expierences in speaking and listening English language.
The next time i hold two car jacks in readiness to keep my eyelids open; i promise.

Lutz
Thank you all for participating in our "test". We did go a bit past an hour, but that only proved that moving to Skype is the way to go. No getting kicked out after 40 minutes. Just clicking on the link was all that was needed, no standing at the door waiting to get in either or downloading an app.

Lutz, it was good meeting you. You did well with your English for not being your primary language and not speaking it often. Car jacks may be a bit overkill, you might try some toothpicks though.... Icon_lol

According to Skype, this link will never expire, I'd like to try that to be sure. No rush, but if so, that makes things even easier.
Yes, a special thanks to Lutz for participating. Your command of the English language is quite good. Skype worked well and it didn't take long for one of us to start poking around and finding different backgrounds and other silliness.

Tom
I just clicked the link to see if it still worked. I was able to use the image to comb my hair..We could click in anytime and have a discussion with ourselves. I would finally have someone listening to me.

I think it is great that the link remains live. I will put that one on the desktop and all we need do is come here and write "click, chat has begun"

Somehow, I  gained a, "meet now" icon on my taskbar. Right click and I can either start a new meeting or join one. Just hard to keep up with all this. Applause Applause

If I open my Skype app, I can now click on, "Big Blue Chat with ezdays", and go back to our meeting from yesterday.

And to be able to sit in front of a huge blueware plate, incredible. Awesome
Well I checked in this morning and see the meeting is over, story of my life! Big Grin
I didn't get home until 7:30-or-so yesterday, and when I clicked on the link, I was asked for my password, which was rejected.  I have tried to use Skype several times in the past, but to no avail.  Probably just as well, as I didn't really have anything to say.

If you have Skype installed, I guess they will ask for your password. If you can't remember, they will allow you to get a new one. I have Skype installed, and for some reason, it disappeared and I had to reload it, but it did remember my password username without my having to enter it again.
I don't have skype installed , I was having the same problem as Wayne with passwords  I know for sure if I have to install it it won't work so I will just leave skype as an uninstalled browser workaround.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, maybe go back to Zoom?

Noooooooooooooooo, At least on Skype, you don't get a message kind of like, "you have 10 more minutes before we drop you, pay up or it's good by"...... One time on Zoom, I left poor Tom waiting to get in, on Skype, you click on the link and you're in, no waiting for the host to allow you access.

My laptop doesn't have Skype installed, I'll see what clicking on the link does there.
I never had a problem with skype until Microsoft decided it needed to use the on cloud passwords as well. I don't use one cloud, Microsoft already knows too much about me. I don't have it installed, all I do is click the link and go from there.  I have tried fixing the password many times and no success. even when I write down the password so I can't possibly forget it, I still get an error telling me the user name and password are wrong.  I am delighted that they finally gave us a way to use skype without having the application installed. Kind of says (to Me) "we don't have a problem but here is a solution")
