This was sent to me by Pete's daughter, Heather. Please take the time to view this service aboard ship. Pete spent his life in the service of our country and it is fitting that they honor him in this way. Pete was a friend to us all and went out of his way to visit those of us here that he could. It was a pleasure knowing him and he will be missed. It is also touching to know that members of the US Navy  still take the time to do this.

Thanks for posting that Don, it was a good service, for a good Vet, among the many other things that Pete was.

I didnt know Pete real well, but he was at many of the local train shows I would go to. Pete was ALWAYS very nice, and was super knowledgeable on so many things.

I hope nobody finds this disrespectful, but to put a face with the name, here is how I always will remember Pete

Yes, a very moving service.  I was happy to know Pete, even though it was mostly through the Forum, and a single 'phone conversation  a few years back, when I called him on his birthday.

It was nice to see the Navy's consideration of his final wish....rest in peace, Pete.

I hadn't really thought about it, but it's good to see the USN keeping tradition.
Though I only "knew" Pete through his kind words and encouragement on this Forum, I hope his family and friends took comfort from this fitting send off.

I also only knew Pete thru the forum. We had several discussions about boat modeling and his advise was always informative. May you have fair winds and following seas.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I sent Pete's daughter a link to this thread along with one to the memorial thread. She has been keeping me updated of any changes the past few years and I'm sure everyone here would want to know as well.
