RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 06-13-2024 Thanks for your kind words! cn nutbar & TMo. Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - bdw9535 - 06-18-2024 Greg another great looking model. What paint did you use to get the green patina on the pier warehouse? Bruce RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 06-19-2024 Thanks! Bruce. I used "Floquils"( Which as you know is no longer available) Dark Green & Reefer White mixed together to give me that copper patina colour. I then gave the entire roof a few washes of A&I (Alcohol & India Ink). Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - bdw9535 - 06-19-2024 Greg, thank you for the info. Bruce RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 03-27-2025 Hi everyone, well it's been awhile since I posted anything new with my Magoun pier module. However I am taking part again in this years Kitchener/Waterloo and area Doubleheaders layout tour this Saturday March 29th, so I wanted to have something new for the module. So I built a "Fine Scale Miniatures" kit called Skinner's Row and added it to the module. Here is the kit and how it now looks installed onto the module. Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Charlie B - 03-27-2025 Greg Your work is beyond excellent. The evening photos and lighting are real. You are A#1 Charlie RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 03-27-2025 Charlie, thank you so much! I'm glad you like it! Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - cnrglen - 03-27-2025 It looks great Greg, I hope to add lights like your to my work someday RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 03-27-2025 Thanks Glen! Yes including lighting to structures adds another level of realism to them. I do indeed hope you will give it a try sooner than later. Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - bdw9535 - 04-06-2025 Greg, I truly enjoy viewing your modeling work and photography, trust that your layout tour went well? Bruce RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 04-06-2025 Thanks! Bruce, I'm so glad you enjoy my photos & models! The layout tour went great! It is a long 12 hour day though, me & my feet were tired by the end of the day. Here are some better close up pics of the scene while it was still on my workbench. I still need to add some streetlights and add the power lines to the utility poles and the electrical hook ups to the buildings. When that's done I will add dirt and weeds throughout the scene. Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - hillyard999 - 04-06-2025 Greg, Great builds, great pictures! Hillyard RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 04-07-2025 Hillyard, thanks very much! Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - Ensign - 04-11-2025 Hi everyone, here's a better view of how I worked this Skinner's Row scene into the Magoun pier module. Greg RE: "Magoun pier" The beginings of my layout - TMo - 05-31-2025 Great use of space, Greg, and the attention to detail is spot on - absolutely nothing looks out of place and right in terms of time modeled. Great addition to Magoun! As usual, your lighting gets me thinking and dreaming. |
