Re: Thomas & Friends begin talking - pennman - 09-15-2009 I dont know who was the better narrator, but Ihave to lean towards George Carlin,he was an interesting pick and seem to give the show something. Re: Thomas & Friends begin talking - sgtcarl1 - 09-16-2009 Yeah, I agree! Wasn't John Lennon on as Station Master, for a while?? I'm still highly biased to Ringo for a couple reasons. One, he was English and two, because I like the Beatles (and he was the googiest of the Beatles as well)! ... John Lennon died in 1980 so I don't think he was ever involved in the show .... The show would be better (and funnier?) if they had British accents because everything else about the show is so British -- British scenery, stations, locos, coaches and freight cars, etc. I guess that the show has to be Americanized to some extent so that it will "fly" over here. I know that they have also made British versions of American shows in the UK. For example, there was a British version of Blue's Clues (you'll only know what Blue's Clues is if you have very young children!). Rob |
