Those are great pictures! to model this, I'd need a blend of craftsman type and DPM style buildings, add some reinforcement plates and be all set. By the way were these taken during a festive period, seeing the decorations on each building?

Koos,
I stayed a day in Petaluma, which is not far from Napa (west), and made a pile of photos there. Main street of course, but also residential areas and structures adjacent to the rails. Will those help?

By the way were these taken during a festive period, seeing the decorations on each building?Well this is the historical Old Sac, so it looks like this all the time, but during the summer they have a 'gold rush days' weekend (i don't know when) they bring in tons of dirt and recreate the old west, if you google image "old sacramento gold rush" you'll see a bunch of pics of it

They may do yes :-) Funny, I did have a look in Google earth in Petaluma, and came accross the railway station, which is also build in similar style as the one in Davis (Davis being a lot bigger though). On the satellite view, you can see what looks like a Geep and an old caboose or freight car, I wondered if they are permanently there 'rusting away', as the track their on, seems to disappear in the undergrowth. Did you see them too?

Hi Tomustang, 'Old Sac' surely looks pretty. :-) Thanks for sharing the pics, I'm getting a bit of an idea of what to do once I get to structure building stage :-) (I'm currently in a 'temped to tear part of the track up and re-lay it a bit different in one area' stage :-) )

I saw them too, yes. As I can recall, the tracks had no connection to the rest of the world anymore. My main interest in Petaluma was photographing the Depot there. I took pictures from every angle and did some measuring too. The structure is unique, but you are right, it is built in the same "style" as Davis. Unfortunately I could not go to Davis too.

We camped in Petaluma last January (closest good campground to S.F.) and I asked about the cars -- no information.
There were plans that came out to run a commuter line along the tracks but that may be as amorphous now as everything else.
