Most of my equipment is Milwaukee Road, but I've got some from other roads, too.

I first discovered trains with CN and I stuck with it until now. My first trainset was a CP, so I got a sizeable fleet. In general, my rolling stock is mainly CN/CP and their subsidiary (GTW, GT, CV, DW&P, Soo Line) and New England roads. Of course, a few QRL&PCo here and there, but I see it much more like a novelty items.

In general, I didn't stray, but I can't say I set myself on a specific goal. Well, I remember when I was a kid, I wanted CN zebra with CN/GT/CV cars! Just need a J.M. Huber kaolin tank car and a few CN Rail woodchip cars and my dream would come true! ;-)

I try to build a collection that can be used on a variety of different layout concepts. So far, I never had to discard aroad because I wasn't modelling it anymore. But I must admit I have a few oddballs here and there, result of compulsive buy or for some specific interest (a Jouef SNCF Trans Europ Express from 1965, a Belgian switcher (bought when I studies abroad and few others). Nothing scientific, I'm just surprised my collection is still relatively coherent and divided between the 50s and 70s/80s.

I have a hodge podge of all different engines. I'm relettering some of them. I want to do a patch job on one or two of them. Soo many great models, so little time.

My Roster doesn't seem so bad until you check the "dates". Most of my equipment sticks to a relatively northeastern theme, but they seem to span three distinct periods- late 1970s (Conrail, Amtrak, NJ DOT, SEPTA), mid 1980s-early 90s (Conrail, SEPTA, NJ Transit), and early 2000s (Amtrak, NJ Transit, NS, CSX).

I've been pretty good lately about sticking to just late 70s stuff, and even then, i've been putting effort into researching prototypes so that the things I purchase will "fit in" to a high degree.

Normally I wouldn't care whats in my roster, but when you have a limited amount of budget to put into these things, You gotta make the best use of it.
