Now there's atmosphere for you Thumbsup

Very nicely done, Reinhard - I think you've probably gone as far as you need to with the buildings; looking forward to the advent of the 'ground over'.

Regards,

jonte

Started the ground works. I need to get a feeling how much degeneration is appropriate.

and a barrier along the street

Together with the adjacent untended yard is the overall impression changing

Reinhard,Looking good.. Thumbsup
Now comes the hours of detailing and IMHO one of the best things about ISLs.

Re: Freelance 2014-2 - faraway - 08-15-2014

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, this part is the best one. I hope it will last for some more time.

I worked my way from the center to the West end of the building today.

Re: Freelance 2014-2 - Brakie - 08-15-2014

Reinhard,Those safety stripes(aka idiot stripes) on those support columns is very nice and adds realism.. Thumbsup

I never thought about those stripes even though they are very common on those types of buildings... Wallbang

Come winter I'm going to continue the march on Slate Creek and move from Woodland Scenics 12" x24" black roadbed and track to adding structures, ballast etc.

Re: Freelance 2014-2 - faraway - 08-17-2014

We have got a modern fence with a long sliding gate with a motor drive.

A view along the street. The fence separates the street vs. the industry yard.

Re: Freelance 2014-2 - jonte - 08-22-2014

Really atmospheric, Reinhard, and somewhat sinister: I keep expecting to see the chalk outline of a body over by the dumpster Wink

Re: Freelance 2014-2 - faraway - 08-22-2014

Added some detail at the west side of the building
[Image: IMG_3591_zps2a08127c.jpg]
and converted the track back to normal ballasted, added a sidewalk, handrails, steps and other details.
The industry yard became more structured and detailed

Adding details since some time builds up even more respect for Ray's "59th and Rust" layout. It is amazing how much and how many details he put on his layout Worship

The industry at the west foreground got fenced and detailed.
Three Trident furniture delivery cars are a lucky find on ebay. They are a perfect fit.

Wink The "Route there", is "one detail at a time". - - - the level of that one detail, and the rate at which you "produce details" is up to you. The farther up the learning curve you get, the quicker things begin to happen. As your skill level improves, ( and it will ) replacing first attempts with better versions is not a sin.

Have fun getting there Thumbsup Big Grin Cheers
