I took a black artists pastel scraped the side with a knife creating dust. Using a Crayola paint brush, it is big and fat, I dusted it onto the road where I wanted it. Then run a truck through it to make some distinct tracks. I wish it was still on my layout so I could get more photos but it has been torn out.You might want just in the center of the lane for oil droppings. Possibly at the turn there might be some tire marks. Where I did it was heavy truck traffic turning in and out of an industrial entrance.

An even easier method of making pastels into dust is to simply rub it on coarse sandpaper, then dump the powder into a suitable container.

Wayne I never claimed to be very smart. The way I figure it , why do it the easy way when you can do it the hard way?
