My attempt at one of the buildings in the Grand Avenue lot. Unfortunately I forgot to take the height of the rail into consideration so the loading doors on the building are a little low but once I get all my foam i'll make a foundation that'll give the building the correct height.

Nice start on that interestingly shaped structure. It'll be an eye catcher! Thumbsup

I got the other building in the Grand Ave lot started and sort of pinned in place. Not an exact replica but the same idea.

I second the motion! This is really coming together and is certainly capturing the look of the area you're modeling.

I really like what I see so far. With these oddly shaped buildings it will be a very interesting little layout.

Thanks everyone, I just have to figure out the roof and the over hang for the loading dock and I should be good. Hopefully by the weekend if I get everything I ordered I can get some power to the tracks and run some trains.

It's been awhile since I've worked on the layout so I jumped around and messed with the grand avenue overpass and stone retaining wall. Not much of an update but I will try to add a road/sidewalk tomorrow

Slowly chipping away...got Grand avenue "paved" and had some extra smooth-it so i poured it by the lumber siding. Not sure how that siding will be arranged yet, either a background building and a fence around the area or just a fence along the wall...i don't know.

I was originally going to cut this extra space out but I decided to go with the scrap yard thats on Grand ave, the trailer will be the office for the yard. Manhattan Beer Dist. got cut out of the plan so I built this curved building to hide the quick drop in elevation from the foam to the plywood, I haven't decided yet but might do an abandoned siding along the curved wall, but again i don't know. So that's all for now, i really need to get started on getting power to the track just been lazy.

I think the idea of having scenery below track level here was brilliant. I just didn't see that in your earlier planning, but now this is coming together very, very well.

I got the stone wall from ebay, here is the link for the seller http://www.ebay.com/sch/Model-Railroads ... vliet49286 he makes all sorts of scenery made from cast foam so it was easy to cut the wall the height i needed.
