Sometimes when I'm working on it it seems that way too.

That houses under construction remind me very much on some German Faller kits from my childhood. They are cute and you can add endless details to each of them. A well chosen scenario Thumbsup

Charlie, this underconstruction village is coming along very nicely.

I'm curious, what manufacturer made this church. It's so rare to find good church building that doesn't look far west or just ridiculously small.

Matt, the church is a kit from IHC that I picked up from a local discount store for 4 bucks.
It came with enough unpainted figures to cover the cost of the kit, but it makes a nice kit. I didnt use the base, they take too much away from the scene.
Here is one on Ebay. Probably find one in a hobby shop left over.

Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 03-11-2012

It was a beautiful day here today so we took the dogs to the park for a walk and when we got home I decided to make some trees.
Along the alley coming into my place are some bushes that need trimmed badly, the house is currently vacant, so I took the liberty of trimming the bushes for some tree armatures. Where the bushes had been pruned/trimmed over the years had branched out nicely to form trees. Here are some of the results.

TO seek knowledge to improve ones skill and to find someone like you Charlie b. you share through pics and your descriptions your knowledge...we are truly blest and thank you !
Every model railroader is always looking for more space to expand. You are very lucky to have an opportunity to create a building for your hobby and to be appricated by your family
to enjoy it with you. Congrats......Good luck.......THANKS train

Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 03-15-2012

I sure do appreciate your compliments, however undeserving they are. I'm in the bottom 1 percent of the modelers here. There are so many that are so much more skilled, and I have learned from them.
Perhaps the best thing I have learned from these wonderful folks is to try it instead of just wishing you could. I am constantly amazed at how easy some things are to do that you would think would be very dificult. Don't expect to be Rembrant, you don't need that , just do the best you can do, and if that doesn't satisfy you go back later and do it again. I found that if I do something I need to improve on, I can go back and do it later, but I don't go back right away.
Keep in mind that every layout is nothing but a lot of small scenes held together by a piece of railroad track, the bigger the pike, the more little scenes. Cheers
Charlie
