Re: Charlie b's layout - doctorwayne - 03-29-2012 I enjoyed the video Charlie, and continue to be amazed by the speed at which you continue to add scenes to the layout. I'm looking forward to once again seeing it in person. Wayne Re: Charlie b's layout - Ralph - 03-30-2012 I thoroughly enjoyed watching those loooooong trains behind huge power like those Centepedes! I wasn't alone either. As soon as my cat Lucy saw the movment on the screen she had to check it out. Lucy's become quite the fan of railroad videos lately. She tried to paw at that string of three cabooses in your last shot. Great work Charlie!!! Your layout runs so well and looks terrific! Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 03-30-2012 I think maybe she was watching for a mouse to come out of the tunnel. Re: Charlie b's layout - cn nutbar - 03-30-2012 What a treat Charlie---thanks for posting Re: Charlie b's layout - Harry - 03-30-2012 nice Video, Charlie Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 04-19-2012 Working on the downhill side. I've been working on the trucks on my cars, reaming the bearing pockets, and cleaning the axles. It's really worth the effort. It makes the locomotives seem like real powerhouses. I am also changing the P2K couples that came with some of the life-like P2K kits, they just don't hold together like a Kadee, and I've installed a few decoders, one in a powerhouse mallet that was surprisingly easy and a couple in some old Athern GP7's/9's and one SW7. Charlie Re: Charlie b's layout - nachoman - 04-19-2012 Who is the manufacturer of that white building on the left side of the photo? It's got an unusual look that I really like. Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 04-20-2012 Kevin that is a model power kit for an embasy building. http://www.internettrains.com/merchant2 ... gory_Code= I liked the building, but not as an embasy. It still needs work to make it realistic, (as all my buildings do) but it was a good start for a nice building. I still don't know what it will be but not an embasy for sure. Charlie Re: Charlie b's layout - Tyson Rayles - 04-20-2012 Good looking town scene! Maybe that building could be a RR hotel? Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 04-22-2012 The population is taking off, and some folks are even finding time for some fun. Charlie Re: Charlie b's layout - Ralph - 04-22-2012 Your scale people seem to be enjoying your layout as much as we are! Re: Charlie b's layout - Gary S - 04-22-2012 Charlie, your progress is stunning. We both started our buildings around the same time, but you are definitely ahead of me. Question... in the mixed doubles, was the overhead smash a winner? Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 04-23-2012 Question... in the mixed doubles, was the overhead smash a winner? Actually the game continues so we will never know . If I am ahead of you, which I doubt, it is because I am retired and have more time, and there is also a difference between plunking down a building as I do vs the wonderful scratch built buildings you have done. My priorities were to get trains running as I had been away from mine for 14 years while I played with the biguns, however, I think we are both happy with our results so far. Charlie Re: Charlie b's layout - Gary S - 04-23-2012 "plunking down buildings"? You know better... Your layout is wonderful! Keep up the great work! Re: Charlie b's layout - doctorwayne - 04-23-2012 Gary S Wrote:"plunking down buildings"? You know better... Your layout is wonderful! Keep up the great work! Gary's right. Both of you guys have great layouts and are fast workers. And as far as being retired goes, I've been retired for eight years and haven't accomplished half of what you have, Charlie. I find both of you to be very inspirational, but I'm still a slow worker. Wayne |
