Cool, Greg... you're taking all the previous experiences and combining them for great effect on this layout. Thumbsup

The Tree Docotor is in....

With a little seltive prunning and painting I am continuing to blend my foreground and background. The trees are really starting to look good and look more alive then modeled.

That's a fantastic scene.

Unless you're on the Eastern side of the Cascades, you need more GREENERY!!!

If you are modeling over there in that dry place then I gotta say so far it's lookin pretty awesome.

Greg, I bought the Kalmback backdrop book. It has some neat tips in it. I found some good info I can apply to my flatland layout in the Midwestern section - most notably the step by step process of giving the depth of illusion with the colors used.

That scene looks awesome, looks much deeper than the feet or two it actually is.

Oh Man!!!! What a bummer (as they said in the 70's)! Will you be able to move the layout along with the family or is it a total goner? I guess most of us have gone through this for one reason or another, but it is a bit painful...

Best wishes...

do not, I repeat, do not, move to California, move to any other state, so happy I got out. Move to Northern Oregon or Southern Washington, home of the SP&S. Vancouver, Wa great for rail fanning, and it a lot cheaper than California, quite a few hobby stores in the area (Portland), and a few good clubs.
