RE: Charlie b's layout - TMo - 08-14-2024 That IS a beaut! The Morris trestle is (I believe) under significant strain there. RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 08-29-2024 I got some time to work on the Kiski Junction train tonight. I see the inside of the long hood is going to need some black paint so the headlight doesn't shine through the 1/8 inch steel. I need to letter the coach and add a few more decals to the locomotive. Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - tompm - 09-08-2024 Nice shot on the trestle. The loco and coach came out nice. RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 09-16-2024 Some steam action on the Wilderson. Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 09-23-2024 Another video for your enjoyment. Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 09-24-2024 The results of my first attempt at static grass. I cheated and bought the applicator for 13 bucks from Temu as well as the grass and I am pleased with my first attempt. After I applied the grass and the glue had set overnight I went to Walmart and bought a little pocket vacuum and it has just the right amount of suction and it also has a nice little plastic jar that reclaims all the "grass" that didn't glued it has just the right amount of suction and it also has a nice little plastic jar that reclaims all the "grass" that didn't glue Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - TMo - 09-25-2024 Fabulous! I foresee a lot of "rinse and repeat" in your future! RE: Charlie b's layout - hillyard999 - 09-25-2024 (09-24-2024, 05:58 PM)Charlie B Wrote: The results of my first attempt at static grass. RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 09-28-2024 RE: Charlie b's layout - TMo - 09-28-2024 Another handsome Heritage unit! RE: Charlie b's layout - tompm - 09-28-2024 A beauty! RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 10-05-2024 Hi group I am continuing to add the static grass and I am pleased with the improvement it makes. I also found a transfer caboose for a reasonable price so I am going to paint it as Conrail 18343 which lived out its time at the Kiski. I think it was sold to a guy making a caboose motel but I am not sure. I am checking on that. Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - hillyard999 - 10-06-2024 Charlie, I always enjoy your layout photos. Your backdrops really add to the scene. Heritage unit looks massive! and that's a nice trestle too. That caboose looks brass? --hillyard RE: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 10-07-2024 I didn't have a productive day but I did do the decals on one side of the transfer caboose that was at the Kiski for 20 years. We got it for a good price from Conrail and I sold it to my best engineer. We had it fixed up nice inside so volunteers could stay overnight if need be. I am going to leave it as a Conrail unit. It was sold along with the other cabooses to a fellow making a caboose motel in Freeport Pa. Charlie RE: Charlie b's layout - Porthos63 - 10-08-2024 Its a beautiful layout Charlie. And getting the decals on is just as productive as anything else! |
