I worked on the grass on the north east curve by the brewery.

Looks like I am going to have to learn a new technique. Looks great.

Here is a link to the applicator I bought https://tinyurl.com/grass-applicator

It works great.  I also found out I can make grown dried grass out of cut sections of Hemp rope. i will try to do some photos over this week end.

Here are a couple photos of the grass with the brown hemp rope blades made by cutting 1 to 4 mm lengths of the rope using an exacto chisel blade. I added the fibers to the other static grass. I think I can get all the brown/tan I need from a foot long section of the rope.

I made some cat tails from hemp rope and applied them with my static grass machine. I think they need to be a shade darker. I will have to see if I can get more to stand to represent late summer.

I ran my small vacuum over the grass and weeds. It looks pretty good         Charlie

Moving along with the grass. It's funny the things that show up after every little improvement made.

That's what makes this hobby special! There's always something to tinker with! Love the grass, Charlie and I'm looking forward to getting to the point when I can use my own static grass applicator on my foregrounds.

Tuesday evening I did some more grass planting and I ran out of my premixed Elmer's glue. I just had a small re left to do and I had a can of 3M spray adhesive on the table. I want to report that it does not work. Tonight I redid that small section with Elmer's and also did a coupe more square feet on the hill top.

I mix the Elmer's 8 oz of glue, 8 oz of water, 1 oz of rubbing alcohol and a drop of dish soap. Use freely, it dries clear.

My last layout was in the basement of my last home which was purchased by my #2 son. The layout is in a 17x28 room (DC) He has nearly completed it with the help of my #3 son. He posted this picture  tonight.

It's great when your kids pick up something you also enjoy. To date for me, that's been woodworking and golf, but NOT model railroading. Good on your boys for picking up the torch!
