I picked up the remaining 2. These are Walthers and will need some details added.

Hi Charlie,

I got a good deal on the last two heritage units that I needed to complete the collection.  The Penn Central and the New York Central.  These are Walther's Mainline models and they rate below all of them except the Athearn units. The most detailed I have are the Intermountain.

Both locomotives needed minor work, The NYC had a clunking noise which turned out to be a spot on the axle gear on the front truck. It  had a loose plow too.  The PC unit had a noisy gear train but a lube job took care of that.

Here are some random photos of the train room. It needs a lot of work to organize it again. I am thanful that I am starting to feel able to get back at it.

These are a little large for my layout  but I did them to gift a friend that has brought me a lot of HO items. They represent companies that operated in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Charlie, are you going to put an SD70ACe into helper service? NS just did it on the Pittsburgh Division with SD70ACe #1025. They added the helper link and moved the ditch lights.

I can put any locomotive into service as a helper or a DPU simply by setting CV19 to the value of the consist pulling the train. It adds some interesting features to an operating session.

Work progresses on the 2 U23B's that I am painting for Lehigh Valley, They are Atlas models and the decoder install was simply plug and play,

Last night I started to apply the grab irons and discovered the hole were not drilled. I got my pin vise and a #80 drill and started but after 2 holes I just plain gave up.  Tonight I went at it  a different way. I chucked my pin vise into my power screw driver and, following Wayne's advice chucked the drill long so it could flex a bit without breaking. I drilled 36 holes in 15 minutes. I used grabs from Trix instead of the ones furnished and got one of the two completely done. The other is drilled (half of the 36 holes) so tomorrow I hope to have it done. Photos to come of the completed units ASAP.
