whats it called? - rogerw - 04-17-2009 what is it called when you use static electricity to put on grass. I thought there was talk about this over at the utter site . I thought some one had talked about making a home made applicator that put a static charge on the grass when you apply it to the layout . Any help please Thanks in advance Roger Re: whats it called? - Trucklover - 04-17-2009 Hi Roger, i think your talking about a Static Grass Applicator, and i believe that was Wayne (doctorwanye) that made a home made one, hopefully Wayne will chime in here and share again Re: whats it called? - scubadude - 04-17-2009 A company called Noch makes a static grass applicator unit, you can google Noch and find it..... Re: whats it called? - rogerw - 04-17-2009 thanks guys , thats why i love this site . Re: whats it called? - Trucklover - 04-17-2009 No problem Roger As Richard said, Noch also makes a Static Grass Applicator, ive heard it works great, but the downside is that its just so dang expensive lol Re: whats it called? - shortliner - 04-17-2009 http://railwaymodelling.fotopic.net/c1602617.html how to make it http://rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=43020 another version http://forum.atlasrr.com/forum/topic.as ... hichpage=3 another way of using it Re: whats it called? - upnick - 04-17-2009 Hi All, I too have been looking at a cheaper option to the Noch applicator ... i never mind buying equipment for the railroad but they are too much as Josh says Thanks shortliner i have ordered one of the insect killers shown in the second link .... works out better than one of the Noch puffer bottles as well. Post some pics when i get it up and sorted the results should be interesting Re: whats it called? - doctorwayne - 04-17-2009 You can now view the GERN TurfMaster Grass Blaster how-to right here. Wayne Re: whats it called? - tetters - 04-18-2009 BUILD YOUR OWN! Wayne article is an excellent how to and it works! Re: whats it called? - MasonJar - 04-19-2009 Lee Valley (www.leevalley.com) sells a flocking gun (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx ... 3298,43300) designed to fire 1/32" flock. Don't know how it would perform with longer grass, but maybe worth a try at under CAN$7. Andrew |
