is hiawatha hobbies a good place to buy from - rogerw - 04-19-2009

Has anyone bought from hiawatha hobbies. I need some locos for my UP coal train and want some katos GE C44-9W. They havfe a good price and wanted to know if anyone has delt with hiawatha hobbies.

Never heard of them.
But as an owner of a Kato C44-9W, thats a good choice.
Powerful, Smooth running, (not as smooth as my Athearn SD70's though)PNP for DCC(Though I'm DC). Nice detail, though some of the smaller bits can be a pain to add.
Little noisy in the motor, but I can deal with that.
I think you'll like them.
