I see the smoke trail from a ghostly 10 wheeler.

Re: Change Of Pace - Selector - 04-23-2009

That's a very nice image! It's almost as if the more you look the more there is to see.

Re: Change Of Pace - Steamtrains - 04-24-2009

I echo Ralph's comment...Stunning, indeed....

So, where were you when you took that pic..??? 357

Re: Change Of Pace - OBJack - 04-25-2009

A great photo indeed.
I'll show my antipodean ignorance and ask the dumb question ..."What is it?" and can you see it with the naked eye?
And I see a dog, but I had better be careful because it may be a psychiatrists' drawing, and all sorts of inferences may be had if you say the wrong thing. Misngth

Hi Guys, especially our American friends,

Thanks for contributing your tax dollars so that I can enjoy these great pics.....grin

MM's post was the April 23rd Astronomy picture of the day and the US taxpayers generosity will get you a new incredible one every day. Here's what it's all about;

They have been doing this since June 16 1995: 'Neutron Star Earth' so going through the archives is going to take a while...a very enjoyable while though

I have an RSS feed on Firefox on my Linux box and an APOD widget on my Mac.
APOD don't start your day without it.

Tony.

Re: Change Of Pace - Sumpter250 - 04-26-2009

Truly beautiful pictures. What really amazes me is that even a z scale model of either of those, would be many times larger than our solar system! Eek
I feel humbled in the presence of such vastness.
