Has your wife or better half been watching those home improvement/landscaping shows? If they have, your in trouble!
My wife has been watching them all winter and walking around looking at the house and yard. Yesterday we went and bought two rolls of weed blocker, three five gallon buckets of red lava rock and four buckets of crushed rock ( we don't have a truck so this is in the trunk of her little Kia ). Next she wants to get some landscaping timbers. I can see what this summer is going to be like allready and I think this is only the beginning!

I'm sure glad I don't have to worry about the wife watching those kinds of shows.She is a crafter and watches all these craft shows,goes to craft websites and watches QVC and HSN when they have their craft shows. My house looks like a craft store blew up in it. At least I have space for my trains. Bob

We do not have tv...except during football season...and then only for 10 hours on Sunday and 3.5hrs on Monday. It is great for our marriage...no peer pressure from gardening TV shows. Perhaps you should "pull" your back...and have to spend time model railroading to make it better Thumbsup

Btw Loren, off topic, are you familiar with the private car Nomad?

NKP, that is to cool. I have never heard of The Nomad car. I picked the name from an old Star Trek show.

Make her a deal: You'll do the landscaping but only with a G Scale garden railroad. Show her some garden railroad websites and hopefully she'll get on that kick too.

Then you might end up enjoying that landscaping!

Nomad, it is one cool car! The history of the car is about as clear as mud...I've read many different things about it...but the general conclusion is that it is both wonderful and probably in the top 5 most famous surviving railroad cars.

Mountain Man, I think you are thinking of the Ferdinand Magellan. If you say "Roosevelt's car", that is the car people will think of. It was also used by Truman, Eisenhower, and Reagan. It is in the Gold Coast Museum in Florida. Like the other very famous cars, it is meticulously cared for.

In terms of fame, the Nomad is definitely in the top 5.

Tom, I tried that when we bought this place. The backyard is about 3/4 of an acre and would be great. But, no dice :cry:
But, I am getting even. She wanted the lawn mowed to, but I told her I wouldn't run the yard tractor until I changed the oil and filter, then told her the parts store wouldn't have a filter in stock a week. Icon_twisted
