A real rust bucket - foulrift - 05-07-2009

I have been meaning to photograph this for some time but can never remember to take my camera with me.
Although it's not a train,it's train related especially for those of you the model coal or stone hauling roads.
I know nothing about it's history other than it was made by Autocar and it's for sale.

Dito lol, it certainly is in need of a new paint job from the new owner, that is if someone wants to buy a rust bucket like that lol, maybe whoever buys it will restore it

I couldn't agree more.That truck would look great if it were restored. The area of Warren County,NJ where this truck is located (according to my wife)may have been used at one of the many iron mines that were active in the area up until 1960 when there was a massive cave in and the bureau of mines deamed them unsafe.
Also in the area were many iron furnaces-one of them of note was located in Oxford,NJ and was one of the first to have a blast furnace and in it's hay day made cannonballs for the Union army.

Check out the front bumper. It looks like some one bolted a 2x12 to the frame.

Steven-aside from the overall patina,there doesn't seem to be any visible rot which really shocked me.
e-paw-good guess.That's exactly what the bumper is.

Now I could get some yard work done with that! I'd also get more respect on the road than I do with my Saturn. Goldth

I don't know about that...There's tractor trailers on the road and people still do stupid stuff.

88-I used to drive tractor trailers so I can relate to that.
Upnick-I too built my share of those AMT kits. I remember building a model of a Mack to look like the one that I owned.
