Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - Trucklover - 07-11-2009 WOW Andrew, that is really looking awesome!!! Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-11-2009 Thanks Josh! Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - Herc Driver - 07-11-2009 That looks really nice! I like the way the building has different sections. When it's under roof, I bet it will look even better and have great character. Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-11-2009 Thanks Herc! Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - upnick - 07-12-2009 Hi Andrew superb build so far cant wait to see more progress on this interesting structure Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-12-2009 Thanks Nick! Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - ezdays - 07-12-2009 Looking good my friend. Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-12-2009 Thanks Don! Working on the filler (not as much needed as I feared) and priming them outdoors this morning. One lesson learned - Old, left-over spray bomb primer not so good. New can much better...! Hopefully this will lead to a "natural variation" in the colour of the bricks and mortar! Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - eightyeightfan1 - 07-12-2009 Looks good. Glad i'm not in the kitbash......... Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - Will_Annand - 07-13-2009 Wow, the building that keeps on growing.... Nice work Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-13-2009 Thanks guys! Got it primed yesterday, which unfortunately had the effect of highlighting the gaps. I will have to go at it with a bit more filler. Picked up the fire escapes and some "Robert's Brick Mortar" from the trainshop as well. Tried a "new" spongepainting technique on the bricks, but it's quite difficult to get into the corners with the sponge, so I may end up just painting the whole thing, and only using the sponge to introduce a bit of variation. Andrew Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - e-paw - 07-13-2009 Looks good Re: MasonJar's Kitbash - Summer '09 Challenge - MasonJar - 07-17-2009 Thanks! Work will stall for a little bit, but hope to be back to it next week. Andrew |
