Walthers background buildings - upnick - 06-14-2009

Hi guys,

As you may know i am using some of Walthers background buildings on the layout ..... best solution as its only 2ft wide .... though after placing one of them at the back of the layout the base of the building at rail height with a loco next to it on the rails sat on WS trackbed they look out of scale.

Do you think they are better placed on a wider layout .... to give a better perspective and 2ft is a bit narrow.

A way i have thought of is to have the buildings on a higher level thus decieving the eye with a road over the track with concrete supports the locos can run under.

Rough sketch here hopefully gives you the idea.

Have any of you had experiences similar ?

Place the buildings on some cork, or one or two pieces of WS Roadbed that you're using.
This will raise it to the hieght of the track, and probably will look more to scale.
