Matt, great pictures. I'm glad someone is getting out. I may try tomorrow.
Where were you when you took the picture of the 9604? What highway bridge is that in the background?

Thanks Charlie. Today was a good day to get out. The sun was out and it was warmer than the past few days I was out. I took the picture of 9604 in lilly. The bridge in the background connects lilly with the other side of lilly. I took your advice you gave me and put it into that photo.

Right after I took that photo I went home and was listening to the live feed and heard a train on track one that was dragging equipment. Took it an hour to get up through lilly after they found out that the air hose disconnected from a car. So I went out to get a picture of the signal bridge for a winter shot and caught the Jordan Snowspreader again, but this time it was plowing. Got a video of it. Here is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U46_J-_tPjI

Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - LiveSteamer - 02-15-2010

Yesterday was a great day. It was cold and snowy so I out and about. Instead of taking pictures yesterday I took four video's and caught five trains.

1. East Bound Mixed Freight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er2xPUoQ8qk

2. East Bound Pennsylvanian
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UnbhkoPg4w

3. East Bound Trailer & Double Stack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxBoGnYGQas

4. East Bound NS 536 PPLX Coal Train & West Bound Set Of Helpers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DWRGrxD74w

Side Note: NS 536 ( PPLX ) heading east bound with 2 SD60I's and a four banger of SD40E's on the rear. The 536 stopped at CP-MO to pick up head end helpers, a set of SD40-2's to continue up to Gallitzin where the rear helpers were to be cut and the head end helpers would remain down around the curve to Altoona. 536 had about 127 loaded PPLX hopper cars.

Seems kind of odd to cut your rearend helpers but this was the order that was given at CP-MO.

New additions to flickr were posted today. Norfolk Southern dumped a stack train just west of Butler, Indiana so I went to go see the cleanup job.

SgtC...Where are those coal hoppers coming from, and where are they headed..?? That's a powerful amount of coal..!! Eek
Those coal loads look like they were cast by Athearn....I understand these unit trains are loaded while in motion...Is this correct..?? Sure does take a lot of muscle to move those babies....
