Trackmobile install - upnick - 07-15-2009 Hi Guys, Have any of you converted the factory direct/overland trackmobile to DCC ? or know of a ''how to'' on doing so preferably with pictures ? Re: Trackmobile install - shortliner - 07-15-2009 They do a DCC version - I have one of each! Thanks shortliner i have seen the DCC version but have the chance of a dc one and wondered how difficult it is to convert. Re: Trackmobile install - COMBAT - 07-19-2009 I would imagine its like an N scale install... Not a lot of fun but it can be done. I have the DCC version. Good luck! Unfortunately, the Trackmobile has a custom NCE decoder specifically designed to be used on the trackmobile. To my knowledge, it is not available separately. You might be able to add a different decoder but i don't know how you'd do that. I do know that i have to fix a window that popped out in mine, so when i open it up, i'll give you my ideas. I'm assuming you already have a DC trackmobile, but if you don't, just buy the trackmobile with DCC already in. the savings is not worth the headache. in the end, a small, cheap decoder will cost you just about $10 less than just buying it already with DCC. Re: Trackmobile install - upnick - 07-22-2009 Hi GEC, I havnt purchased the trackmobile yet ... your comments have got me thinking as to which version to go for now. |
