Robin's Project - Fifer - 08-04-2009 Over the many years Robin and I have been married we have taken some long walks along many railroad tracks with my son and cameras in hand. Over that time we have found many interesting things along the lines. We had picked up many many pieces of railroad china along the way. The quandry was what does one do with all these pieces? Well , months ago Robin decided she wanted to make them into some sort of keepsake and came up with this idea. I think she had a fine idea and great exicution so thought I would show it off a little. Thanks and Happy Birthday Robin !!!!! Mike Re: Robin's Project - Ralph - 08-04-2009 A railroad china mosaic! Brilliant! Looks like it will turn out very nicely. Ralph Re: Robin's Project - Fifer - 08-04-2009 Thanks Ralph , Mike & Robin Re: Robin's Project - shaygetz - 08-04-2009 Excellent use of those broken bits...4 stars Re: Robin's Project - eightyeightfan1 - 08-04-2009 Nice! I always walk along tracks here. I guess the New Haven took better care of their china, I never found one piece. Re: Robin's Project - nachoman - 08-04-2009 Very nice! Re: Robin's Project - Sumpter250 - 08-05-2009 If no where else, here, the story of how it came to be, will be preserved with the finished mosaic. Very creative, very nicely done! Re: Robin's Project - Beamish - 08-05-2009 That looks great. Is that just tile grout you used to hold the china in place? Re: Robin's Project - Fifer - 08-05-2009 Beamish Wrote:That looks great. Thanks , it is plywood base with tile backer board on top then tile adheasive to hold the tile and pieces then the trim and grout. She will varnish the trim and use grout sealer this weekend.
