I never could understand the model change when they chopped the hood and changed the air filter style. Conrail called them 8's and 10's, but I don't know if there was any difference under the hood as far as horsepower/performance goes.
Our 7 had a chopped nose, so I suppose we could have called it A GP6 7/8 Icon_lol

Wayne, I wasn't going to post that shot because I thought too that it was a GP 10, but after checking the WW site and seeing that they had it listed as a GP 9 posted it. Glad to see you checking to keep us all honest 357

Charlie, the GP 10's got an additional 100 HP when there were rebuilt. Not all of them had their noses chopped.

The CSAO MI-21 crew had outlawed and were told to leave their train where it was,fouling the Millville Yard. The WW crew hooked on to pull MI-21 clear. Millville, NJ July 2009
