The CN HR616s were built in 1982, and would have been around. Photo courtesy of Mister Nutbar:

The HR616's are even better. We were only in Toronto a few days before travelling through (by train) into Michigan, and again in reverse 3 weeks later. Saw many CN units between Toronto and Sarnia, but none of these great looking beasts.

May have seen an odd one on the way to Sarnia, but I don't have my records to hand as everything is packed away ready for our imminent move to live in Slovenia. Saw plenty of the one behind though, and several RS18 in stripes and plain black. If I were ever to model north American roads again, it would definitely be CN in that era. Wink

Caught this little fella (caught between a long train and some powerful pushers?) while railfanning with Charlie and Mister Nutbar - not sure of the exact location.

Next up, we need another caboose or anything undecorated. Icon_lol Icon_lol
