Long read, but interresting - Russ Bellinis - 01-21-2010

I received this link off of the Santa Fe list. It is a very interresting interview with an old timer who started as a fireman with the Santa Fe in 1938 and advanced to engineer at the beginning of WW2.

I only had time to read the first third, maybe, yesterday, but I must say I love anecdotal histories like these. We know the memories are going to be suspect when recalled in later times, but in a way that makes them so much more fun and interesting. The gist of the incidents is there.

Thanks for posting it, Russ!

I didn't read the whole thing yet but got a start. Good reading. Reminds me of my Grandfather and Uncles stories. Some of which I will share at a later time.
