FoulRift's 2010 Bash Challenge - foulrift - 02-25-2010

Now that I have a food distribution center on my layout I figured it was time for some rolling stock to service it.This car is my take on a mechanical reefer.
I started with an old Athearn 40' boxcar, added plug doors provided by doctorwayne.I also added see through screens, fuel tanks for the reefer unit, new paint and decals.

That's cool! And a very nice job on the paint and decals. What did you use for the grille on the side?

Ralph-Kevin,Thanks for the compliments.I appreciate them.
The grill work on the car are some photo etched grills that I found at LHS. They are actually meant to be used an late model GE units. I just picked a pair that would fit, carefully marked out the area and cut a opening in the sides of the car body.Once satisfied with the fit,I attached it with a couple of drops of CA.
I neglected to mention that the paint job on this and two others that I did at the same time were done with spray cans.PollyS reefer Orange and caboose red.
