Matt Re: Is there a Mike in the house - cn nutbar - 01-26-2012 Hi Matt---here's one for you---these are Accurail cars---actually these cars are very similiar to the cars that the CNR originally used in woodchip service ( with the roofs removed ) Re: Is there a Mike in the house - sailormatlac - 01-27-2012 cn nutbar Wrote:Hi Matt---here's one for you---these are Accurail cars---actually these cars are very similiar to the cars that the CNR originally used in woodchip service ( with the roofs removed ) Yes, it would be a nice and quick kitbash. BTW, it's good to see CNR freight car's trucks painted in boxcar red as they should! It would be great if Accurail made a Fowler OSB car, would make life easier to a lot of modellers! Matt Re: Is there a Mike in the house - jwb - 01-27-2012 Can any of you CN types point me to photos of the wood chip versions? I have a thing for wood chip cars -- and Maine Central actually also had the same sort of outside braced box car wood chip conversions. In my challenge thread, I gave indication about a RMC article (1976, May I think). There's a picture of an old Maine Central steel boxcar converted to wood chip service. I'll check it for you when I return home this afternoon. It is clear CN and CP used 40' 3-Bay steel hoppers (without modifications) and roofless boxcar. CN Nutbar took a picture of a roster of them.
