Your efforts will eventually convince me to weather my yellowbonnets also. I also like the "patch job" CSTR on the reporting marks. My shortline is the Almeda Terminal and Gulf, which was going to either be a "paper" shortline owned and operated by the ATSF, or it was going to be in a stretch where it was leasing ATSF power. But nothing wrong with patching an ATG onto them either. I did use that technique on some boxcars and liked the result. I am still not brave enough to do it on an engine... But you are right, that would be the right treatment for a third hand engine that got never repainted. |
