NKP 765 Excursions - nkp_174 - 07-27-2010
There are going to be three places in the east this fall where mainline steam will be in action.
The 765 will be having its open house Aug 20-22. Admission is free and they will be open 10am-4pm at their New Haven shop. 765 will be hot, but it is the diesel that will be offering caboose rides. At least 11 people from my family will be making the drive from various points in Ohio...765 has been a part of our family since 1972.
In September, 765 will be pulling trips on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic (south of Cleveland). This is the event I'm most excited about. You can see footage of this line on youtube if you search for "4070".
In mid October, 765 will be returning to Owosso to pull a pair of excursion. The first (Oct 16) is the same Alma-Cadillac route that was used for the doubleheader, the second (Oct 23), will be the Owosso-Alma Trainfestival route. For the first trip, tickets are $125 (coach) or $200 (first class). For the second, coach tickets are $99.
