The General Rubber Project - Brakie - 08-10-2010

Phase 1 has commenced! I have begun working on General Rubber which will be a kitbash of 2 Pikesstuff warehouses.I am currently cutting the size to 24'.IMHO this is the hardest part and rather hard for me since I am working left handed.

As you can see my tools are simple a modeler's knife and flat file.

I will post more photos on the progress of this project..The above photo should give you the general idea of phase one.I still need to smooth the cut areas and will do so after I am finish with the trim work.

As a update all the walls have doors and windows..I haven't made any progress over the past few days and I doubt if any will be made today since I am thinking about railfanning on this cool day..

I can identify with that! Tomorrow I'm off to the "Empire of Chicago" to see the "Tall Ships".

Those Pikestuff buildings do make great kit-bashing material. Looks like you're off to a good start there, Brakie. It must be tough trying to work left handed. Please give us plenty of photos of your progress.

Indeed it is tough working on this building left handed so,I came to the conclusion I will end the General Rubber project with the Pikestuffs buildings as there is way to much hacking(including a nick on my right index finger  ) and trimming and its just to hard to do left handed..They should have left the walls and roof in one piece instead of several little pieces that needs cut and filed to fit and even the building's trim work needs filed to fit... Wallbang

I will find other uses for the walls and doors and another structure for General Rubber..

Back to the drawing board.
