Hi from Lego-man - lego man - 11-28-2010

I was inspired to build this from a trip that I went on yesterday with my dad and Tomustang. This was built from my imagination without instructions or help.

Now that's using your imagination and being inventive ... both of which are traits that seem to be lacking from the attributes of many of today's youth!

You are to be applauded for your initiative! Worship

I've always been a leg man ... oh ... is this different, this "LEGO" thing ... it is not dealing with legs?

Very nice! I don't recall ever trying to build a train with legos. I remember space ships, cars, boats, airplanes, but never a train.

Very nice scratch build with legos! I had the moon base tram when I was younger, but never thought to make it steam.

Keep up the good work!

Looks like you've got a good jump on model railroading! I also never thought to build a train out of legos.

Re: Hi from Lego-man - rrinker - 11-29-2010

Legos - one of my all-time favorite toys. I used to have a HUGE box full of them. Beats video games hands down. I used to build trains - their original train system required yoiu to 'handlay' the track - the pieces were rails, both straight and cirved, and the flat pieces to use a ties. Train wheels were the regualr wheels with the rubber tires removed. Now they have a very fancy train system - I've seen some incredible displays at train shows. They also behave a lot like old Lionels - hit a turn too fast and they roll off the track. Unfortunately a trip the the concrete usually results in a whole bunch of Lego shrapnel and a lot of rebuilding to put it all back together again.

Let's hear it for Legos and youthful creativity!

That train looks great and well detailed! It's amazing what can be built from Lego with a mixture of creativity and motivation.

My family and I have visited Legoland in England a couple times. My boys love it and it's quite impressive. Not sure if you will be going to the UK in the near future or not! They have models of major cities & countries from around the world as well as several trains. Here is their website if you're interested ... http://www.legoland.co.uk/

Keep up the good work!
